yeah, ok. And YOU have no tolerance for people who don't like EDM - what's your point?

Even in the beloved europe, I'm sure old people loathe loud, seemingly repetitive, 48-hour-straight music.

It's up to the EDM scene to appease these people, NOT the other way around. They enjoy peace and quiet, which does not infringe on anyone else... loud EDM playing all through the night does.

Complaining about them complaining solves absolutely nothing. We're better off organizing events that will not infringe or impede on other people's lives. Or better yet, working with these people so everyone can get along (eg. setting up hours where no music is on, or asking them half way through the event if the music is disrupting their sleep, etc.)

i think that the stories from the residents sound very very much embellished.. especially the one where the girl knocked on the door to use the phone, that sounds completely made up. I think they wanted something other than noise to complain about

Actually, tresspassing charges were made.

Life will always have haters, period.

These people obviously hadn't ever exprienced anything like this in their lives, and they were understandably shocked. Who cares though, you can't always live in a shell. If a car was stolen, I hope that the person responsible was punished accordingly.

I am sure cops and security were doing their jobs. And some of it does sound a little made up.

The townspeople should just monopolize all the water bottle profits...say "give us water profits and you can rave you're little hearts out." That would pay for all the white picket fences that were knocked down.

Um actually i took videos of families sitting at the beach with loud music and old people actually tapping their feet into the sand to the beat of very loud house music. It was unbeleivable. Some people elsewhere probably dont like it im sure but unlike here they excersize their right to move away from it. As in the case for one night they would put up with it and thank god its only once a year. Or perhaps they might even think "hey good for those kids having a good time." Yes i know living here its hard to imagine people thinking that way but they do.

The problem with trying to appease everyone all the time is that if you give them an inch they take a mile. EVERYTHING we do as human beings has some sort of effect on someone else so walking on eggshells all the time isnt the answer. Its all about give and take.

BTW in Macedonia every year there is a huge festival on the lake sponsored by coca cola right next to the sleepiest village of maybe 700 people. This year they had Darren Emmerson and David Morales. Do you think the townspeople band together and pass bylaws after the first event? NOPE! The party literally happens 500 metres from the town limits.

Imagine that......

I was laughing as I was reading that story. I kept thinking how similiar that would be to woodstock. Epic. I say let the grandma's complain

Good job fellas

honestly, people will complain pretty much anywhere, especially old folks. even toronto, does anyone remember gay pride, jelo had to turn the monitors down at 10 f'n 20, bull. or the sasha lawler party, im sure that would have gone on all day. really that will never stop.

to be perfectly honest i would be pretty pissed if my truck got stolen and smashed up. We don't live in a perfect world, we realy need to learn to be tolerant of all the different kinds of people in the world(including the old foggies). Unfortunately we're all stuck on this rock together.:toocool:

Agreed...

So when will they start being the least bit tolerant of us?

It works both ways....

Guys,I like math, so let's bring a little math into this:

quote:

Dufferin OPP Staff Sgt. Walter Kolodziechuck said in addition to a car theft charge, police issued three drug charges, one domestic-related charge.

So, that's 6 charges in total (I'm adding the trespassing charge as an extra), out of roughly 5000 people in attendance. Divide that out, and you get 0.12% of the attendees were bad apples. 0.12%!!! WTF are they expecting? A perfect society? All things considered, I think the people behaved themselves pretty damn well - there's more charges usually passed around if cops break up a house party.

I'm not even gonna touch the loud music at a festival issue....
