I read on a German forum that the Reason Sound Engine in version 3
has improved concerning mixdown and sample playback quality.
Is this true? Does V3 sound much better than V2.5 (the pure engine, I don't mean the new plugins/devices)

yes i have like so many others dissed reason for years....then reason 3 came out and two of my friends have got record deals from just using this new engine..............
people get so caught up with the programs they use they loss the whole idea.... its about what works for you and what u can produce on a good tune is a good tune..... reason is the most creative program there is on the market..... |

| reason doesnt sound . reason sounds like reason - all its synths and effects have a pretty characteristic sound. not to many people's liking but hey. some people like the sound of sh-101s. i think they sound horrid. one man's meat is another man's poison. |

Since version 2.5 it has always supported 24-bit playback and sample rates up to 96KHz. |

which is pointless. Cubase or Logic Audio in 44,1Khz 16Bit sounds cleaner, more transparent and even a bit louder than Reason in 24Bit 96Khz.
Sound quality of Version 2.5 was definetively not very good.
But if they have improved it now I might the update, since the only thing I don't /didn't like at Reason is/was the inferior sound quality...

| the only problem i would have if i was a reason-only user is that there are only 2 synths. thats reasons sound and reasons character... i dont think the actual engine is SO different to make a real difference. but thats just me |

Your post's are baseless and dont make any sense, I just told you Reason has always supported 24-bit playback and sample rates up to 96KHz. Unless you are using higher resoloution samples than the export settings (If you are you're a ing idiot), It doesn't degrade your sound quality. |

Bit depth and resolution aren't the only variables that determine the output quality. Actually this thread is not about that at all. |

Well, you can stick to your opinion if you like. I'm not the one making a fool out of myself. This thread wasn't about whether Reason's sound engine is or isn't inferior to some others. It's a known fact it has been inferior in the past, the question was if it has been improved in the v3. |
