ANYONE know how to recreate his hi-hat line sound from Need to feel loved ? Ive listen to it over and over ... all Ive come up with is a basic line with compression / or a Line with the resonant pitched up about 5 semitones and the first .3 milliseconds of the closed hat sloped Into the rest of the hat sample ...
anyone have any Idea's or know how to recreate the sound ? |

Nice one Icone,
I'd say you pretty much nailed it! If I were being ULTRA picky maybe tune it down a few cents, little eq scoop (-0.5 - 1db) at about 5khz and it'd be bang on.
Hope this helps,

Well, it's actually a combination of a few little hat lines. One is going from left to right, one is slightly pitched (4 notes in total, the 1st and 3rd just c5, the 2nd being lifted quite a few cents, the 4th a few cents down). Then I added an open hihat (standard one) and one that comes close to the sound of a white noise. Gouryella has often used this kind of hat too.
The rest is basically eq and some very little compression (different one for closed hats and for open hats). You can still do an eq on the total result though, to make it sound more 'fine' like the one Thrillseekers used.
