Wanna Bet!

This thing is not even being shipped by Numark to its dealers and we have already a dozen plus pre-orders and we are getting inquiries on this unit daily!

Cheers...
Hypersky
A dozen orders ? The revolution has begun. :)

that thing is retarded...sure it will save space. but who the hell has enough money for 2 ipods and that thingy?

well i know WHO...but its still lame :p

I think anyone who shows up to a club to play from an Ipod needs to be boooed off stage.

BUT

I consider this to be better than Using Ableton.
at least with this you still have to beatmatch.
Hypersky
C'mon Bob...Ableton awaits. :)

I believe there is no pitch control on these units which is a necessity imo. Whether you want to beatmach or not, its still something you should have. If this option was available, I could see it making a small advancement. However, the cost of 2 ipods and this mixing desk can also get you to pioneer cdjs.

The reason I don't believe these products will gain mass appeal is because I-PODs and the mixer that Numark are releasing are proprietary products and its not going to make sense for clubs and party promtors to invest in them in the off chance that there might be the odd DJ that uses them. There's a massive difference between that and say...laptops, which of course are universal and usable with any mixer. The product is too niche and proprietary - which is going to make it more of a cute fad than something that blows up and changes the DJ world.

I already have this thing on pre-order with 2-60 gig iPods.... yeah right! I think it would be totally lame for someone to ever use this in a club. I would purchase it but only for personal mobile use, such as being a passenger in car, in a hotel room, a way to test out new tracks while not at home. Past that, I dunno if I could take someone serious if they used that in a real club or event. The DMC-1 MP3 controller numark put out was used once at trance energy but never made it past that. This is for the MetroSexual DJ.....

Add to the fact that these give you virtually NO control...hit play and match beats thats it? You have probably 25% of the creative control CD/Decks/Mixer would give you and about .5% that of Ableton.
