To me this sounds like quite a simple 'rebirthy' saw based bassline, can be done with most vsti. Sounds like a single oscillator (saw) quite plucky, A=0 decay=25 sus=70 decay=0 same for the filter env. Set the low pass filter to about 65 percent open, set synth to mono and add a little portamento until it glides nicely, then whack in some notes with a few octave jumps and that should do it.

Anything I missed anyone?

A similar base can be made with the esp in logic,
Start with the saw sweep bass and shorten the release and attack,
It also sounds really compressed

hey thanks a lot!!

but.. can anyone be more specifically?

Ive never worked with z3ta+.. and I still couldnt get it right..

Is it achived with one plugin only?

What about EQ and compressing..

please I would really apreciate a step by step.. for dummies!

Thanks again!!

You don't need no EQing, brother, that is a simple bass, hehe. You can do it with Rebirth, AudioRealism Bassline (303 emulator), and I am pretty sure just using one saw on Reason's Subtractor can make that sound. Hell, download Synth1, which is free...the saw wave sounds similar...just tweak it to your liking. :)

that sound is pretty hard to duplicate perfectly. the hard part i guess is keeping it simple. its definitely a 303, single oscillator saw wave sound. envelope modulation is set pretty high/maxed, decay on minimum, resonance fairly low and the cutoff is open all the way i think. its played around C4 range and uses the distortion on the synth.

programming it would be easy but it sounds like the real analogue deal. you can get close with audiorealism bassline or rebirth - bassline has a saw wave which is almost exactly like a real 303 and as emulations go its pretty damn good. but it doesnt 'push air' like the real thing. if that makes any sense. and bassline aliases whereas analogues dont.

fiddling around with those settings on the AR bassline demo will get you close to the mark. beyond that its all post processing to get it as analogue sounding as you can.

my guess as to what that synth is - probably a real 303 or one of the fully analogue 303 emulation kits you can buy. that or one of the future retro 303 type instruments like the revolution.

oh and by the way, 303s and nord leads make up 90% of all the stock electronic sounds in psytrance. the 303 is to psy what the jp8000 is to trance.

ok.. thanks again..
Ill try that out!

anyway..
correct me if Im wrong but did you say that I can get this bass sound from a nordlead synth?

I have nord 3..
Could I get it from it?
How??

Thanks!!

All the information you need to get started with this sound is in my original reply, if you cannot understand the information it contains I advise reading up on sound synthesis, I would imagine there are some links on this very site, if not try searching google.

Good luck
