So i've decided to take the next step and purchase a decent mixer. I'm pretty much sold on the DJM600, it's industry standard and in my price range (other suggestions would be welcomed but they'd need to make a good point to change my mind!).
What i'd like to know is what I should expect from the DJM600 compared to the ter that is the DJX700? Better or crisper sound quality? More robust feel etc? Anything else i'd really notice the difference in? |

you will drool at the feeling of having smooth faders, not ones that cut in at 7/10 of the way. you'll delight at having good sound quality. you'll adore the not having things bleed into other channels, and you'll orgasm at the touch of a functional effects unit. |

wow never knew there were so many people who bought such a junk mixer, djx 700, in the first place. Pioneers are awesome btw and well worth it. The auto beat sampler is a really cool idea. I wonder how well it works though. On another note i heard and have read that the fader on the pioneer djm 600 isn't the greatest for scratching and if you beat on it, it will fail.
AUTO BEAT SAMPLER
This is a new DJ function that allows you to sample your favorite sources and play them back easily at the touch of a button. The BPM is measured digitally and recorded automatically exclusively for designated beats :( 1 / 2 / 4 / 8 / 16 ) beats,
Maximum interval: 6 seconds.
I will be getting the empath though ;)
My reasons for picking the empath over the pioneer.
1) Rane has been known to provide the best sound quality
2) The mixer is not as cluttered as the pioneer
3) Way stronger fader
5) Two assignable CD triggers work with any CD player with fader start ability (I think pioneers only work with cdjs)
6) The Accelerated-Slope, full-cut, 3-band tone controls are the most flexible and highest quality available.
7) Auto-Gain prevents performance-wrecking swings in program level when changing sources. The music is never too soft or clipped.
8) The Empath provides XLR, TRS or RCA connectors.
9) Two-band headphone tone controls
10) Universal, internal switching power supply |
