Right lookin for some tips here!

I can kinda do this on the EFX 500 but i wanna know the settings etc for scratching the transform effect using a DJM 600?????

My MAIN Q? is how the hell can i do this with the DJM 600 ?? Where do i set the depth knob and how to you get the Transform effect to be runnin at the correct BPM on the looped CDJ as i cant change the effect BPM it only picks it up auto matically and obviously there is tune playin through the other channel so if you set it to master would Transform (chop) the music up as well as the looped sample???

Other thing is finding it hard to keep it in sync it starts to go out then the scratching sounds e!

any tips would be wicked folks!

surely someone can do this aswell?

if you set the effect channel to the master, then it is going to transform everything, set it to the channel you want the effect on. The fx pick up the bpm, but you can set it to whole beat, 1/2 etc with the buttons, and then update that with the dial to fine tune, or use the tap feature to get the pitch you want on it but you're never going to get perfect accuracy that way. You'll need to match the pitch on the decks to the effects, since the decks will be more accurate.
set the depth high enough that you get the cut, set it low and the volume will dip a bit but not cut with the effect

cheers mate, that kinda clears a bit up!

I just find it difficult to keep them in sync it sound good for a bit then goes off!

I thought you had to set the TEMPO's the Same on both CDJ's

Like if one is 140bpm at +1.45 .. you would loop the scracth on the second set it to +1.45 aswell then Runn the Transform effect through it ?

You are under he impression that if you have both CDJs at +1.45% pitch, then they must have the same BPM? :nervous:
Charlie_Chongo
True, dunno why i thougt this!!

Do you have to get the loop perfect is there a knack to that too ? ie a shorter loop or somethin ??

He just makes it look so easy in that vid!
scAza
not too sure mate I only have cdj100s so can't do any of this CDJ scratchin, it was just I saw that bit in your post and thought "hmmm" haha...

I think you just have to match the CDJ to the FX thing, and not the other way round...

(but dont quote me on that :eyes: )

I think his actual scratching on the pioneer sounds e and sore to the eardrums.

The scratch loop he has burned on a CD is superb, But when he starts to actually add an effect or whatever it is he does when he touches the pioneers it sounds god ing aful.

And its every single ing set he uses it and its starting to become annoying. Like really annoying.

Plus he needs to stop the Coke

whats the track he is playing?
and as i can understand...he has that constant sound on a cd and then he uses fx to incorporate it in his sets?

the constant sound is a classic scratch sound, looped at 1/16 either with the loop function of the cdj1000 or it's just a loop burned on a cd

he probably knows the bpm of it and synchronise it to the other track and plays with it...

i reproduced that very easily and there's nothing special, except when he scratche with that sound he resync it by forwarding the loop a bit ( you can see it in the video )

well, reguardless of anything, that video was tight. true what someone said, if he uses the same scratch sample all the time, that could get annoying and old (uncreative). but thats still inspiring. samples, loops, effects. great stuff.
