Trance in a different light

in this song (created in reason 2.5) i tried to capture the essence of a standard trance song, yet show it in a totally different light. The structure is somewhat different then the standard trance song yet using the same sounds as a trance song would have. I tried to keep the melodies simple yet powerful. Have a listen.

Gaze Upon The Stars

p.s.i dont usually have good luck with links to songs recently so just go to my soundclick music page and click on the hi fi one for "Gaze Upon the Stars" if the previous link doesnt work.

dude, there isnt such a thing as traditional trance man. The beauty of trance is the lack of necessity to fall under certain standards man. If it invokes a state of euphoria and happpyness, and mind and body intergration, then i tcan be called trance, aside from the high hats and 4/4 kick, Trance is at it's best when it stands out from those puns who always try to emulate "typical" trance.

well the category of "trance music" as the 4/4 beat, z synthy kinda song is what i meant. i realize that trance can be very diverse, but my point is that a lot of people dont take it to its potential. I'm not saying that there are no artists that fulfill the potential of trance music, because there are plenty. But when it is compared to the amount of artists that just copy the same typical trance, there arent many of the good ones out there.
