Is there any way to get the same volume over a set after the set has been recorded? Its one thing to see the volume meters bouncing up to the same level but perceieved volume is different. Should I just compress it and then raise the volume with a VST plugin or something? Any suggestions greatly appreciated :)

Whatever you do, don't compress...

If anything, normalize the volume, most recording software will have this option under a "Filter" heading...

Also, work on how you EQ (Setting gains etc.) during your sets, once you've got that down your volume levels will rarely be an issue...

Even though im no pro when it comes to getting the levels right iv discoverd that going by ear more then by the VU meters on the mixer has improved the levels on my mixes by heaps!
