I had trouble with a real ID back in the day. The month I turned 18 was the month they allowed beer sales to 18 year olds. So, I went to the local grocery store, the clerk said no way kid, and we had to get the manager involved just so I could legally buy a six pack!
Think the age went back up to 21 again since then, but I never keep track of those things. I just remember that incident from my youth. Beer never tasted so good when you were 18.

i always had trouble buying beer with my puerto rican ID while living in the states.
otherwise- never used a fake, always got into clubs and drank fine :) |

i got a fake when i was 18 in NYC and still have it... i'm 20 now and to this day, i still use it all the time, i go to bars and everything, did since the very first day i got the ID... 2 of my friends got ones too, but they got theirs taken away (cuz they're not smart)... i was even at a party with a bunch of people and 2 different cops asked for my ID and i showed them the fake and i got it given right back to me, i was 18 at the time too (and for all you non-americans, you're luck you dont have to go through this bull that we do up until the age of 21)... here's my advice for people who get fakes
1. Make sure it's a good one, has to look real, put your name on it with everything else false (address town etc) just because people might ask for a secondary one (such as credit card) to verify that it's you on the ID (i get this all the time, because i in fact, look young, hahaha)
2. Act CONFIDENT, this is the key right here, if you're not confident, they'll sense that it's a fake because you're acting nervous
3. What I ALWAYS do is basically start becoming friendly with the people before using it (if i can), like when i go buy alcohol i start askin questions like "how much does this cost, how much is that, what do you recommend, ohh last week i had this..." etc etc, this will get the person thinking that you already know what you're looking for and will assume you're old enough in the first place only verifying it by looking at your fake which they think is real
4. It helps to go with people that are actually old enough to do what you want because if they're legal, then usually they'll assume you are too
5. DO NOT use it at places you know check ID's really good... such as big club events with lots of bouncers and whatnot, that's where they're likely to catch you, I have never used mine at places like this and is probably why i still have it... venues with low security are best (example of place not to use it at, AVALON BOSTON (i hate that place anyways just cuz of crazy security and bad experiences)) |

| Why dont you just come over here to Canada... legal drinking age in BC is only 19 (and half the time you see 15 year olds going to liquor stores) |

| i knew a guy in college who used to go to bars all the time with his real ID, before he was 21. They were really strict about fake IDs in my college town, but he said he just acted really confident and never had a problem. |

In Quebec the legal age to drink is 18, everywhere else in Canada its 19 I think. Thats why you get a TON of people from HS and colleges from all over the country and the US coming to Montreal during march && xmas break. |
