Ok so i just finished this track. It got a really fat baseline, a nice kick and a sweet buildup.
The track is not loaded with to much percussion and thats because i a) suck at it and b) dont like to much percussion.
Pretty much standard. But i think it fits in nice.
I dont know if the main melody is a little bit cheesy (i guess thats up to you to decide). And i think i did well on the mastering... almost sounds pro ;)
Anyhow... here (at the top) is a HQ fullversion if you would like to play it out or whatever :)

Commenting as I listen...
I think the kick is somewhat too weak. Think it needs more "meat" to the bottom end, specially the 60 Hz area I think. A little boost could help you.
And I dont really like the bassline. You could still fatten it up more by reducing the cutoff while increasing the overdrive (or something like that, I dont know). I still think it could use a boost in its lower frequencies because right now it sounds kinda hollow... not sure about this because my speakers tend to cheat me when it comes to low frequencies.
Other synth design is pretty nice. The 303 sounds nice and could be a little more upfront. Boost the filter resonance a little maybe.
I gotta like the part starting at 2:44 a lot. I dig the melody. A little cheesy but good. You seem to have used vanguard, right? ;)
About the mastering: Well, other than the little things I mentioned I can't really find anything to improve, you did indeed quite well with it.
Good job, keep it up! |
