ok and for me.......i chose option 1 for the same reason mario did.
if morillo, or sander, or your mom played in the ATL a lot.......it wouldn't matter........i'd see him/her as much as possible :tongue2 | b0p. i really think when it push comes to shove poeple would rather see the big names
i mean if infusion had a recidency in 1150 and some other good but less know dj had one in riviera
scott would be in 1150 EVERY TIME! :p
btw did i just say riviera? :wtf: |

Option 2 please :D
I have seen a couple of big acts here in ATL and loved them, I think that ATL could and would support a major resident. But on the hole I prefer to keep it interesting. Its not that I wouldn't go to a Sander or Morillo every month, I would, its just that I would not like to give up those nights in the Mark with a couple of hundred people for someone many have never heard of.

| I'm all for option 2. Basically for whats been stated before. A person apperciates the big name more if they visit less. And local talent is almost always as good as big names. :p |

option 1
they are big guns for a reason... |

| Option two. Makes you respect bigger guns more. Also, big does not mean better. There is a whole lot of underrated DJ's out there, for example, I would rather see JOOF than Tiesto. |

| 2 as well....more energy from the DJ |

Option 2.
When I think of the "Big DJs" I mostly think of PVD or TiestPo, although I know some of the DJs people said were "big" could be put in this category also. But for me, I've had my fill of the larger DJs. Seeing them just once a year is fine by me. Especially since the larger DJs have so many "hits" and always play them. It gets annoying hearing the same track at every show for 4 years. |

I agree with the consensus..................
Big name DJs can become stagnant within themselves in my opinion -
It's great to see them but I would rather see up and comings who are trying to carve a niche out for themselves with alternative tracks, styles and techiniques
Give me Option 2 any day with a sprinkling of Option 1 |

| Option 2. Not only would I rather see an underdog dj but I also think the crowd would improve. With the big names, you get all these inexperienced clubbers who think they know everything about EDM and will dance and praise the dj no matter how ty he actually is. |

| i love this thread, hi from LA, i used to live in atlanta for most of my life but was never into the scene out there. met some incredible people out here who turned me onto trance and house. i have to agree with the people who said a little of both, being in LA you get a little jaded b/c so many big names come through and you're right, some of them don't give the crowd what they want (Bad boy bill), but then you have some amazing big names that give it to you hard every time you see them, i have been fortunate enough to see chris lawrence 3 times since march and every time is better than the last. but then i have met so many up and coming djs out here who give their life blood to the crowd and the vibe just can't get any crazier! some are kristina sky, eve falcon, cody lee, mark lewis, jokton, victor dinaire, kazell( name sound familar?) just to name a few! having a few of the biggest clubs out here we do get a lot of big names and it's amazing to see them and interact with them, some of the most down to earth people you will meet and they love what they do and you can feel it. is it like any job where you have some people that are just going through the motions and should retire????? i'm a school teacher and we have a couple of those, so i don't know. but i'm in atlanta twice a year and would love to hook up with some southeast TA's while i'm there. angelblue gave us the heads up about phil k this past week and man they were right, he had the club jumping all night long, it was crazeeee!!! so anyways, hi from the west coast, sarah:p |
