Im just wondering if any of you hardware guys use any sort of Pre-amp in between your synths and your soundcard? It seems I have my synths turned all he way up full with a boost at the EQ and the soundcard input level maxed out and the Levels still seem very low.. |

maybe need to dig a little deeper into your soundcards software based mixer. Most of em have an option of switching between -10 and +4 dbs at the input stage. what u got ? |

Note : all you Audigy bashers.. dont bother commenting here please.. I can be bother explaining the reasons I moved away from M-Audio/teratec ect.. |

Sorry for digging up an old thread, but I still have the issue, does anyone know if the ZS has the -10 and +4 dbs switch as I can't seem to find it?
Or does anyone have other suggestions for boosting the JP-8080 before it gets to the soundcard.
would a DI box with a +20 gain help? or would that degrade the quality?
Mixer perhaps?
Let me know any ideas.. |

Only cards that have balanced ins/outs will have that feature of -10 , +4db, and it also depends if your synths are balanced or unbalanced aswell.
I had the audigy zs at one time and im pretty sure it doesn't have any of that.
i see you have a jp, so do I. Ya the output is kinda low,You can go into edit patch "bank 4" and select 0db +6db and +12db. I usually put it on +6 |
