From what I've read, it's good, but compared to most IDM these days, it's generic stuff.

And thank god for that, since Boards of Canada aren't IDM, aren't trying to be, and shouldn't be compared with standard IDM wankery just because they're on Warp.
If this is classic Boards, I am ing there, as are all Canadians who grew up in the late 70s/early 80s watching David Suzuki, the Beachcombers, Danger Bay, Littlest Hobo, Degrassi, the National Film Board of Canada and odd film clips about the solar system in grade 3 elementary school........complete with those lovable, warm, out-of-tune analog moogian synths. |

| Well, I (in that case) never thought of them as IDM, I purely saw them as a sick chillout band or something. Well, less than a month and 2 weeks to go...:D |

Tracks I really like from the promo I've heard are:
04 PeaTail
05 Dayvan Cowboy
09 Oscar See Through Red Eye
15 Farewell Fire
Pretty amazing album, sounds much more like MHTRTC than Geogaddi which is a good thing in my books. |

are you sure your talking about the REAL release?
sherbert head is just a simple four note repetition that lasts 2:41 min...
there really isnt that much to it... |

Haha yeah I'm positive about the real release. I don't know what 2:41 sherbert head you're talking about but the actualy song is 4:37 and "a simple four note repetition" is just about the furthest thing from what this song is. Maybe you've got a mislabeled mp3 or something  |

sherbert head is indeed 2:41, you probably got a fake version from the
"advance" that leaked out a while ago
by the way, the album is now avaliable to preorder from warp.

| I've listened to the album, and I can't say I'm too impressed. A couple of good tunes, but most of it was pretty boring stuff. Was expecting more from BoC. |
