| I'm not sure if this was discussed in another thread already, but I heard from one of the employees from another record shop I go to. Something about another Company taking over the Satellite store on Bowery? I think I was talking to Jay about this last night. Anyone know what's goin on? |

Hello Friends,
As you may know, Satellite Records has been going through tough times since the downturn in the economy after September 11th. We have been working tirelessly to continue to bring the best music to New York and the rest of the world; however the aforementioned downturn has brought us to a place where we can no longer realize our vision in our retail shops.
As a result , we have chosen to transfer ownership of our retail shops to people who have the resources to supply New York, Boston & Atlanta with the greatest selection of music possible and continue great service, which has been Satellite's mission for over 10 years. The shops will still be called Satellite Records but will be under new management and ownership. We are happy to announce that Employees of our Boston and Atlanta shops now own their stores respectively. In New York TopDJgear.com will own and operate the shop , and our current staff will remain to give you the highest possible service and selection . We believe that we have chosen the best possible partners to continue bringing you the best selection of dance music on earth. The is already a great selection in our shops again and we encourage you to visit often.
Our website will continue to be run by Satellite Records LLC. We will be working on creating a better and better selection, with the fastest fulfillment possible, now down to 1-3 days. Look for our new and improved rare record selection coming soon.
It has been our privilege and honor to have you as our customer and as we move forward with our vision you will be hearing a lot more from us in the future. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support over the years.
Sincerely,
Jonathan Kadish & Scott Richmond

| it will take a while, but hopefully good things are to come in addition to the new management and new records...we're hoping going to give it a "face lift" and make it much friendlier- paint job, rugs, couches... the place is too cold now, needs some intimacy. i still talk like i work there :stongue: but i'll be giving a helping hand i'm sure! :) let's hope it's a new start- nyc can't afford to lose another record store i think! |

Yea, I was wondering what you said by "we're." Then I kept reading :tongue2
Couches? Sounds like a record shop with a lounge-ish enviorment ;)
The record store I go to on Long Island has just about the same records as they get + more.. And they restock some of the items 2-3 times. |

Being that it was the first week, most of the order went to restocks (225 titles) and only about 40 titles for new releases. (it had been quite a while since the last order apparently)
Please give us some time.. rome wasn't (re)built in a day. |
