| Im new to producing so im still figuring out what works aswell as how to use a sequencer and synths. Anyway my question is how do i controll the knobs of the synth in relation to the song position in fruity loops. |

| Hit the record button before you hit play. After you hit play, just move the knobs accordingly. The automation will be recorded to your selected pattern, so keep that in mind. |

What utter nonesence. That way you would never be able to have more than one automation going at one time. I don't use FL myself cos I hate it. So I don't know the answer, but this is not it. |

I think the guy above this post is right. Just push the record button, it's for recording ;), and off course you can automate more than 1 controller why shouldn't it be possible this way. It seems to me it is possible to record several automations in one pattern. |

| Click the icon in the upper left. It will allow you to draw an automation for any knob or button or control on any synth or effect. |

You can press the record button, but it is a very unprecise way of working I think.
A different, and more precise way of automating is called 'edit events'. You can do this for practically every VST instrument. Click on the left top button (as Shibby said) of the FL Wrapper that loaded up the VSTi, then click 'Browse Parameters'. You'll see a list of all editable parameters in your FL Browser. Then just right click on any of those and press 'edit events'. You can now draw all the things your designated know has to do. You can do this for as many parameters as you want for the same pattern.
If the names all sound a bit fishy and you don't know which one it actually is you'd like to edit from the browser, just move around the knob inside the VSTi a little bit. Doing this will lite up the button you just moved in the browser, thus allowing you to use the right parameter.
Cheers,

It's always best to stick to what you like most and produce your best music in. There's no such things as a better program; Cubase offers for example alot of similar functions to FL Studio, but the interface looks terrible to what I'm used to in FL.
Don't just be in a hurry to use something that somebody else (who might produce good music with it) uses - it depends on who's behind the program :) |

| the interface in cubase is really neat and organized...the only reason it looks 'terrible' is because environments like FL and Reason make the GUI so animated that it becomes 'fun' in a sense opposed to 'serious'. i moved from reason to cubase, and experienced that problem at first, but cubase gives me the flexibility i need and has made reason redundant for me. |

Please don't spread misinformation as fact...
Use what you are comfortable using; Cubase has nothing to offer that FL doesn't, especially in the electronic music field where recording live isn't really necessary (though sound forge is great for this). |
