dns-3000
platter actually has a motor, feels more like a real TT.
and it's cheaper.
people just use pioneer CDJs because of the name and because they're the standard :rolleyes: the denons are soooo much better |

the only reason I'd get one of the cdjs would be the 1000 because of the card reader
otherwise when comparing these two I say go with denon |

| The card reader allows you to save cue points on such on a cf card. |

A motor with all torque... so it actually feels nothing like say a 1210 or TTX-1. The only CD decks that actually feel like vinyl are the Numark CDX and the Technics SLDZ, which both have pretty major flaws, so if you're going to go for a Pioneer or Denon, you should just treat it at a different piece of equipment and learn to use it as a CD deck, not as an imitation turntable.
Scratching (the one thing that should really imitate vinyl as closely as possible) is actually more realistic on a CDJ800 or 1000 - if you make the same movements as you would on a turntable, it does the same to the sound but obviously feels a bit strange because the platter doesn't move. However scratching on a Denon would be like scratching on the cheapest belt drive deck in the world (although at least the needle wouldn't skip).
Personally I'd go for the 800. |

Bull. I didnt buy a pioneer because its industry standard i bought it because its quality and i love its simplicity and feel. You dont need the spinning platter its just an annoyance. Yes you can turn it off but its just an annoyance either way. Its belt drive too. I love my CDJ800 its quality i beat that thing to hell and it runs like it did when i bought it. |

| The one nice thing about the denon is if anything where to go wrong its all modular so its easy to get new parts for. The cd drive is also a dvd drive for better durability and a more accurate reproduction. |
