FL Studio ReWired thru Cubase SX3...

how are you suspoused to use this? i have it rewired.. now how do i make a midi track in cubase play a FL sound? It shows its detecting midi on both programs but it wont make any sound in either program.
EDIT: ok, im getting confused now. whats the difference between rewiring FL to cubase and using FL as a vsti in cubase??
i see no difference at all besides where you choose the FL sound you want to play in cubase. |

AFAIK, it doesn't actually respond through a MIDI track. You just design your patterns in FL, and when you start playing in Cubase, it starts playing in FL (with the appropriate time adjustment of course).
P.S. nice pirated version of Fruityloops you've got there. ;) |

| yeah thats all ive been able to do.. you cant arrange it or anything in cubase? when i press play in cubase it just plays the FL pattern over and over.. dont I get to sequence the pattern or anything in cubase? wtf? that is ghey.. what is the point.. i think im just gonna go 100% Fruity.. is that what you do? |

if you think its ghey..then just go 100% fruity..seems like it would be easier for you...

I don't use Fruity at all, I do 100% of the production in Cubase SX (with some editing in Wavelab).
But it plays the same pattern over and over again because FL is in pattern mode. Just put it in song mode and you'll be fine.
I never really understood the purpose of the whole ReWire thing. With Reason I can understand, because it's a closed system, but why would anyone want to wire FL Studio in Cubase? Just use Cubase. :p |

he probably tweeked out XP and disabled all his display effects. retains the original windows look but runs a lot faster and smoother. |

| Use FL. Cubase Sx 3 doesn't offer much more than FL unless you got hardware. |
