All i can say is that it's about time I am able to recieve BBC world news on basic cable.
I dont miss "newsworld" one bit....
Keep striking CBC! Show us how much we really dont need you! |

I dont like $1 billion a year to finance a tv station that does absolutely nothing for me nor anyone else.
If we must have a government run news agency they should look to the BBC as a model. |

Actually it serves the needs of the Lieberal Party quite nicely.
The CBC is an arm of the Lieberal Party. Donations by the CBC Board to the Party, slanted coverage of the CPC, and the appointments of Clarkson and Jean (former CBC hosts) to Governor General prove that.

not to mention the accents.. any news story seems more credible with when delivered with a british accent for some reason :crazy:

CBC's ok...thy got much better lately...a few years ago they were very opinionated and biased in my opinion, i really didn't enjoy their stuff before...now it's a lil better...
By the way CBC regular employees (like news directors and camera people and etc) don't get anything...they're dirt poor...and on a REALLY tight budget...it's quite pathetic really. And...unlike other PRIVATELY owned TV stations CBC is paid for pretty much mostly by the government...
Anything government related/regulated IMHO is pretty much iffy... |

I like the CBC because of their great work covering Canadian events, Canadian history and Canadian culture.
One can go anywhere to get the 411 on the Uzbekistan cotton trade... But about Canada - CBC is fantastic and performs a valuable service. |

yet they manage to spend way more than any private station. Mostly on crap no one watches i assume. |
