Chomsky really is a self-hater. He is a both a Jew and an American, and he seems to hate everything about both.
I recommend this book for any open-minded Chomsky fans. |

isnt it all because Jews basically run everything in America.. you abandon your Israeli alliance you lose your next election.
The democrats and the republicans seem to only be figureheads/puppets to the Jewish regime that really runs the show. |
nice conspiracy theory, but dead wrong. |

Not saying you're wrong but if you're saying that guy is wrong then why do you think the alliance is what it is? Despite what Yoepus says, anyone with half a brain can observe that the Israel-America alliance is very different to a normal alliance (eg with the UK or France), so why do you think that is? |

1) there are a lot of Jews in the US
2) Israel is America's sphere of influence in the Middle East |

1) There are 6 million Jews in America, so no, there aren't a lot
2) America is America's sphere of influence in the Middle East (Seen any IDF in Iraq or Afghanistan or in any US military operations ever?!) |

exactly, that's my point -- Israel used to be the only American satellite there, the Americans needed more bases in the region to control it, hence (one of the reasons for) invading Iraq and Afg. |

Ok so what are you saying in relation to America's relationhip with Israel?? |

First things first:
Although America and Israel may seem to be happy, buddy-buddy partners, I can assure you both sides keep certain bits of information from each other. In fact, Israel has deceived America on many counts, and at one point was even stealing materials needed for nukes right under Uncle Sam's nose.
In regards to those population figures: yes, Muslims may or may not be more populous than Jews in America... but the difference in power and wealth is staggeringly different. Having said that, Jews definitely have influence in American politics, but they certainly do not "run things behind the scenes" or "make puppets of figureheads."
I think the benefits of the alliance are pretty clear. Most important is that Isreal has one of the best information gathering networks in the world(the Mossad)... and since they are positioned in the heart of America's enemies, I would say having access to that information is crucial for America's security.
I won't even comment on who has right to the land. Endless, pointless debate. |

In "The Anti-Chomsky Reader," editors Peter Collier and David Horowitz have assembled a set of essays that analyze Chomsky's intellectual career and the evolution of his anti-Americanism. The essays in this provocative book focus on subjects such as Chomsky's bizarre involvement with Holocaust revisionism, his apologies for Khmer Rouge tyrant Pol Pot, and his claim that America's policies in Latin America in the 1980s were comparable to Nazism. Scholar Paul Bogdanor writes about Chomsky's hatred of Israel. Ronald Radosh and David Horowitz discuss his gloating reaction to the September 11 attack. Linguists Paul Postal and Robert Levine reevaluate Chomsky's linguistics and find the same qualities there that others see in his politics: "a deep contempt for the truth, descents into incoherence, and verbal abuse of those who disagree with him."
sounds like a really "balanced book":D |

I don't know much about Chomsky at all; I downloaded oodles of his lectures in mp3, but I've never listened to them. I've picked up his books in bookstores, but never got interested because I thought them sensationalistically pedestrian. Is this unfair? Is Chomsky worth one's time?

Dunno anything about his dealings with these issues, but the last accusation, the argumenum ad populum, I'd like to read about... lol

| @ tamk & capatalist: Have eighter one of you guys ever actaully read any of Chomsky's stuff or listened to any of his lectures? The Anti-Chomsky reader is nothing more than a smear campaighn in attempt to disscredit "the most important intellectual alive" (NY Times). |
