I don't think so, just tell the reporting officer that you did not notice it until you moved it.
The same thing happened to me a couple of years ago, and i reported it the next day. You only have 24 or 48 hours to report it. Just tell them the exact location, etc. You should be fine. |

your welcome.
i suggest:
1. call up your insurance to double check on the 'penalty' on reporting a hit and run case (ask it as a general question, w/o giving out your info). The norm is no premium increase, but insurance companies can be bitches at times.
2. report the incident first thing in the morning. |

That just adds insult to injury that little bit of info. That sucks! |

No kidding! One of my co-workers had his 2 day old 2005 Saab 9-3 Sport Sedan rear ended. Just a scratch, but still pretty annoying nonetheless. |

That sucks.
My g'f had her brand new car for 3 days and someone walked by and slammed a briefcase down the side of the door putting a deep 8 inch scratch into the paint. |

To me, it all comes down to how you were raised. People who have the indecency to pull a hit and run are normally no more decent in any other areas of their lives.
I remember getting into a fender bender once (scraped a parked car in a parking lot), and I actually waited for the person to come out from the mall and exchanged information with them.
The thought of leaving sickened me, not to mention what kind of bad karma it would have been.
The guy that swiped your car and took off will get what is coming to him, trust. |
