I think he was talking about the nord. Nord has 4 voices and microQ has 25.

Why is polyphony important anyways? I mean once you got your melody you record it to audio and further modify it...no?
ErikC
Well thats one way of doing it.. But itīs allways funnier to have more polyphony.. Especially if you are going to play big pads..

that sample file the dude provided for other people to see what can come out of that thing, i can easily reproduce all that with reason's malstrom or even subtraktor
it dosent even sound close to Korg

what reason is *that* good? I tried it and it didnt seem to be all that good

How can Micro Q has 25 voices?

With midi you can control only 16 voices...

Maybe you are talking about poliphony? Than nord 1 can play 16 notes at the same time, with 4 kinds of sounds (voices)...

If you have the Virus C, you will not find anything spectacular on Nord 1...

Maybe you should consider the Nord lead 3 (not rack) to get all those lightned controls, keyboard with after touch etc, and conect the midi out to your Virus C to get the good of both (but NL3 is pricey)...

Sorry about my English...

Not bagging Reason, but I've never heard anything like that come out of it. Cmon, those samples are so bright. Comparing them to software is crazy :)

Trust me, the Micro Q is an awesome synth. The Vengeance sounds are all just supersaw patches anyway which isn't what it does best. For rises, fx and harsh digital psytrance leads, its very good.

luizmenezesjr: Your thinking of channels or multitimbrality. Voices are essentially polypholy... the mQ has 25 but they are dynamic, so if you use unison or FX, you'll get less.

Oh, and as for the nord... I'd get it. Your not really going to be doing pads with it if you have a virus C, so the polyphony prob wont be too much of a problem. If your happy just doing maybe a bass and a lead with it, then it should be fine.
