DJ Tiësto is preparing an extravagant production for three U.S. shows this fall, with shows planned in Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and Miami.
This is no ordinary DJ set. The Holland-born Tiësto promises to keep the crowd rocking for a full four hours with pyrotechnics, a three-story LED wall and at least 30 performers including aerial acts, dancers, drummers and singers.
The $500,000 production will feature an intense lighting show and Tiësto's custom DJ booth, decorated in pulsing LEDs.
Shows are set for the Los Angeles Sports Arena August 20, Washington, D.C.'s MCI Center October 21, and Miami's Hard Rock Arena October 27. He'll also appear at New Orleans' Voodoo Music Experience October 29 along with Nine Inch Nails, Queens of the Stone Age, Joss Stone and more.

well he kinda forced him self into that situation. When he started the TIC series, he had a huge production stage. What are you going to do for your next tour, scale it back? No sir. Bigger...ah...better?:conf:

Im not sure if I like this type of idea. Sure it will be a specticle, but does it fit into the scene? Propably not, but then again, he isn't trying to fit anymore, he is trying to carve his own page in edm history.

Rabbit in the Moon are are spectacle. And damn impressive if you ask me, but I enjoy that aspect for their performance. I think it compliments the music and image their project well.

Who says Tiesto can't do it, too. Jesus, ppl like give him way too much .

Toronto is falling way behind .. forget Europe. there are massives happening all over North America right now meanwhile we're stuck squabling and entrenched in our own sterile bylaws

rabbit in the moon didnt bring out acrobats and circus acts.... they were a performance all to its own. It actually fit with what they have done in the past.

I can see it now... next it will be Cirque De Soleil presents Tiesto and his flaming record tricks.

Tiesto - good, Tiesto as a circus ringmaster - bad.

I swear, Tiesto just makes it easier and easier to make fun of him.

I have no problem with Tiesto...he is great at what he does...it isn't my cup of tea but nonetheless.

The problem is....when he goes and puts on these performances he is drawing a different crowd to the music. That isn't bad as I would like to see more people realize how great this music is.....I am just affraid that many of the other top DJs will see how much money this brings in for him and start going the same way.

I am sure...for the most part....people that are on this site enjoy the music and appreciate the talent it takes to be a DJ.....and I don't want to see it turned into a three ring circus.
