At least drink choco milk. It's not THAT bad.
edit:of course, if you're done with puberty and all that crap, by all means, do what you want. |
Cheese is much better if you want to be tall. |

I don't see how the high-protein content would leech calcium from your bones. Fish or eggs don't leech calcium from your bones, right? It doesn't make sense. It's more likely that these studies are not taking all possible likelihoods into consideration; that the problem could be any number of things besides protein leeching calcium, such as the one I propose later on in this paragraph. I've never seen the studies though. I just did a little research and it seems that the specific kind of casein protein in milk does cause problems in people who are allergic or "sensitive" to it. I also know that the calcium in milk is in a form that is not easily assimilated by the human body. However, that's far from being able to say protein in milk will leech calcium from your bones. More likely that people drink milk as their only calcium intake, the calcium is not properly assimilated, and because they get no calcium from other sources (Why? Milk is praised for its high calcium content) they exhibit low calcium in their bones. Very likely, protein has nothing to do with it and is simply a fallacious causality. Of course, if what I believe is true, this only poses a possible problem that could be solved easily by getting your calcium from a more viable source like green vegetables or maybe supplements.
No complex carbs or fiber? Just get 'em elsewhere. Too much fat? Get nonfat, which is also low in cholesterol. Contaminated with cow's blood? Is this detrimental in any way or do you just say that because of the "gross" out factor? Hell, is it even true? I've never heard of cow's blood in milk before. But the protein, friend, that's the main benefit, especially when combined with grains like pasta, cereal, and/or whole wheat bread.
Oooof course there are more detailed sections describing many possible negative effects of milk on the body that I don't care to read, but if you do and find something that would change my mind then let's see. |

| So in conclusion I would say that milk might be bad for those who are lactose intolerant or sensitive to the particular kind of casein protein in cow's milk, but all the other supposed bad side-effects of milk are probably caused by a simple deficiency of another food product or an excess of something in the milk that is easily avoidable with careful purchasing habits. |

| Actually, it's been proven that as people age, they slowly but surely become more and more lactose intolerant. People that aren't lactose intolerant in a bit at a young age are pretty good to go for the remainder of their lives, I'd say. |

Milk is really dangerous indeed. That explains how I drink 1 litre every day and I'm the healthier person of the house, without blood pressure problems (which both my parents and my sister have) and without problems with cholesterol (which all other family members have). My grandfather also drinks hideous amounts of milk, he is 70, and is bound to outlive my only grandmother left (who's already had cancer by now).
I find it rather amusing how the page mentions these studies and doesn't link to any of them. |
