Leonardo Da Vinci was smarter than Albert Einstein. (pg. 2)

physicas and the sciences are all good and dandy but Da Vinci's theory's, poems blue-prints and such still have people baffled. His predictions of astrology and the cleverness in his puzzles still entertain and encourage debate today. Where as Einstein....E=MC2...Everybody who has watched Animaniacs knows that. Where as Da Vinci...as tweeked as he was, still has so much mystery shrouded around him that you can't exactly discredit his brilliance...or he was just mad...*shrug* Insanity even brings out some amazing feats of knowledge that has shed light on everything from philossophy to the sciences.

Well, there's a lot more to Einstein than just E=mc^2: the whole concept of relativity (both special and general), 4D/Minkowski-space-time, ...

I was using the E=MC2 thing as a base reference. I'm at work right now and bored out of my head and just thought I'd add my bits. Anyway, I still stand by my opinion that Da Vinci was the more intelligent of the two...Nope no facts to back it up but I've done my bit of reading.

I've read and seen shows of Da Vinci's life and he's one smart fella alright. I prefer not to dabble on who's smarter since that's not fully measureable imo.

Dan Brown's books.

ok stop right there.

keep in mind Dan Brown writes fiction.

and you can't compare the two. different fields of science.

no question that both were geniuses.

I don't think he's basing his observation off of just the Dan Brown books though. I think he's saying that the books got him interested in Da Vinci and that pushed him to research the man, and of course that uncovered all of his amazing achievements.

In either case, it's amazing what a highly intelligent individual can achieve. What would really be something is to have been a fly-on-the-wall, or fly-in-the-brain so to speak, and follow the thought process of these guys; Just to get an idea about what drove them and how their logic led them from one step to the next.

hmmmm.. i'm gonna have to put my money on Da Vinci. His work just seemed more revolutionary and ahead of his time. I mean, it's easier to be a genius in todays society (with so many other geniuses to feed off) while back in the day there werent too many intellectuals around.

Plus, I think a lot of the ancient Greek mathematicians and philosophers were on par or even smarter than DaVinci and Einstein. I'm talking about guys like Archimedes, Aristotle, Pythagoras etc

none the less.. the all these guys have done in their lives is fukn amazing. I only wish I could be a quarter as smart as these guys.

I completely agree. If the Greek Empire hadn't fallen, our society would probably be way more advanced by now. Those dudes were so far ahead in science etc.

Einstein's moustache was bigger than Da Vinci's. Therefore, he wins.

No the smartest person who has ever lived is Stephan Hawking. That guy talks with a compputer.

bananas
maybe he was the most intelligent.
but about the book
* > The Da Vinci Code
that book is so pop.

It wasnt the fault of the greek empire collapsing that's held us back all these centuries.. It's actually a very simple reason why we're only now catching up to the intellect of these men now.

IF the Great Library of Alexandria hadnt of been destroyed we would have had the industrial revolution 2000 years ago. It was just a matter of the knowledge dieing with the Library.. there was just no way for the knowledge to be effectively past down through the generations. Oh, and we can also blame the Catholic Church for holding back knowledge of the geniuses from the middle ages (ie. Galileo)
