| I can't help to notice that the talent that Toronto venues are bringing in the coming weeks outnumbers the talent that Montreal venues are bringing in. Compare who is scheduled for the government, Boa-Redux, etc in coming weeks with who is scheduled in Aria, Stereo, etc in coming weeks. Although there is quite a bit of overlap, more seems to be going on in Toronto. Perhaps Montreal focuses more on its local talent? |

well I complain about this fairly often myself.. I can't comment so much on both cities and their bookings as a whole.. but certainly for 2004 & 2005, Toronto has had better techno bookings outside of the festivals here.
- Montreal definitely reigned before that though ;)
The biggest factor is that Aria doesn't book much techno anymore and the fact that there are several promoters at any given time in Toronto capable & willing to book techno headliners, you can likely see techno @ System or Guv.. and I think Boa had some names, like Jeff Mills, but nothing in awhile if I recall.
If Richie, Carl and John play in the Fall I am making the trek for sure! |
