Well IMO a lot of Nu NRG tunes you can hear in a set and immediatly say "Its a NuNRG tune". Casino doesnt do this. Its just a generic track, with nothing that makes it stand out. |
Are you having a ing laugh mate?
Its got "Nu Nrg" written all over it :nervous: |

Linking people is out soon on Vandit. Last time i spoke with the guys they said they wanted to release Casino, but its up to Paul and i got the feeling they were a bit fed up. Its the reason why Guiseppe started a solo project.
Ive heard the guys have remixed Second Sun's "Playground" but unsure whats happening with this.
Cheers

I don't think it'll be anytime soon ... the Vandit release list is growing by the day. :\ |

NuNRG remixed Apex instead of U2 ... there's no big deal, still the same sample. |

Whatever you say about new releases I'm not surprised the lads are fed up.
Vandit are a ing disgrace at releasing tunes. Not only do they hardly release anything decent, they keep it for years stewing in a pot (Summer Dream) and keep all the best stuff for themselves. If you're an artist looking to get productions signed and a bit of exposure, for christs sake dont sign to Vandit.
I guarantee thered be lots more Nu NRG releases if they were with another record company.
I mean look at this list I compiled last year. Theyve probobly made new stuff since then, but anyway.
Abalou Capoeira
Active Sight - Tears of Joy (Nu NRG live mix part 1)
Active Sight - Tears of Joy (Nu NRG live mix part 2)
Be Rite Back (feat. Jose Amnesia)
Casino
D-31
DJ Ton TB - Dream Machine (Nu NRG live mix)
Dreamland (Whirloop Remix)
Dreamland 2003
End Kiss
Kosmosy
Last Experience
Light Force
Mumbai (Intro edit)
Natural Thoughts
Opportunity
Overcraft
Paul van Dyk - For an Angel (Nu NRG remix)
Sasha - Expander (Nu NRG remix)
Second Sun - Crush (Nu NRG remix)
Shane 54 - Vampire (Nu NRG live mix)
To Slide
U2 - Where The Streets Have No Name (Nu NRG live mix)
United for Love
The fact that all these arent released, especially End kiss/Last Experience/U2 remix/BRB/Natural Thoughts is a bloody disgrace and Vandit should be utterly ashamed of themselves.
People complain the scene is going downhill, well this is why. What the hell are Vandit releasing Summer Dream for when they have tracks like this sitting there doing nothing. |

Have you considered that Vandit don't own the licensing rights to a lot of those tracks? for e.g. the Whirloop Mix of Dreamland was a freely available bootleg mix.
Why would they want to put Dreamland out for a 3rd time? ... cue Monster Tunes.
That Nu-NRG might not have even submitted half of them to Vandit?
They are a 'live act' ... if everybody could buy their stuff then who would bother going to see them?

While i agree that Vandit releasing Summer Dream is pointless do you honestly think it would be good for the scene if NuNRG put all those remixes/productions out? |

True, Vandit dont own them all, I just couldnt be bothered editing my list :D
I can understand why Nu NRG wouldnt want to put everything out, but in the case of Last Experience, they never seem to play it. Now I've never been to a liveshow of theirs, but as far as I've heard, they never play it. I'd reckon Vandit have a copy of most of their stuff, minus some of their livemixes (probobly Expander etc). But what annoys me is when there are people everywhere crying out for a long overdue release of Last Experience, and it seems to me as if Vandit are just gonna sit there, a finger in each ear, feeding us what they want, and not what listeners want.
A similar thing happened with Picottos Dark Room. Everyone wanted it and would have bought it back in 2002, but Mauro refused to even play the thing by request. All we were left with (like Last Experience) is a lousy setrip and a dodgy reconstruction. Now fortunatly Mauro (or the label) finally came to their senses and its getting a release. That NEEDS to happen with Last Experience, since it seems to me as if the lads dont use it anymore. What harm is there in releasing it.
But on a broader thing, I do feel record companies say 'we're going to sell this to you but we're not going to release what you want us to release'. Now I can understand that to a certain degree - they have to make money. But in the days of Digital Downloads (which I maintain Vandit are going to be the absolute last to embrace), it doesnt make sense. Even if you dont sell a whole load of copies, you've made the public happy as a much requested track has been released. That increases public opinion towards the company, and people would be more likely to buy stuff from them.
Now I dont pretend to know about how record companies work, but if I did run one, I'd go online and post a thread "What track do you want me to release" and I'd see what people come up with. EG: I'd immediatly get in contact and snap up that unreleased A-force tune from the Unknown tracks forum. A lot of people want it, its a disgrace that it was never released. It would do no harm to release it, even as a paid download. I dunno what licensing right there'd be - but this assumes they're sorted. It pains me that no-one in the industry steps back and thinks of stuff like this.
I've kinda drifted a bit in my spiel, but overall, it just seems crazy that popular tunes that people generally like (last experience), get abandoned by the artists even when theres public outcry about them. It would do no harm whatsoever to release them. Vandit should do something like a 'by request' Vinyl, with some of their big unreleased tunes - say like Last Experience, that unreleased Another Way demo version, Autumn, and that tune that only Oakey and PvD have (Shahaf Schvarzman, Nati Mishali & Nat Beat - Phoenix) from the 2003 Cream set.
Keeping tunes for themselves like that goes too far. It would do only good to do 'by request' vinyls and release older stuff if people want it. :) |
