Nice idea Wim! Taken me ages and spent loads to find all the samples I need! Be great to have a one shot sample cd that incorporates more or less all you need for trance! |

Don't consider this as an "attack" in any way.
I'm just curius about the legal aspects of releasing a sample CD's with samples from other collections and songs.
That kick in the first sample sounded very much like it was cut out from an classic Airbase track. :-P
Have you made any of the samples on these CD's? If so, are they presented on any of the demos?
Anyways, this sounds like a really good collection. Might just buy this. I'm always short of samples, even though I got 20.000 of them... :stongue: |

Looks great, Wim. Can never have too many samples in the library that's for sure.. and such a great price. I'll be interested for sure.

I can understand your concern about these samples, you could in fact ask yourself the same question for every sample cd that has ever been released. In fact, on the Vengeance Essential Clubsounds Vol.1 for example, there are many samples that remind of of being used in tracks I know and other samples I already had in my collection.
It all depends on where you get yourself your samples from. Various download sources on the internet provide some starting points (basically 'free' samples), as well as some sounds I recorded from my brother's synth. Alot of drum samples can't possibly be held in a certain way from the public domain, so that nobody else will use them in the future. I can remember once Green Court came to the scene with a special sort of kick, a few months after there was a small 'flood' as it were of new artists using the exact same kick.
Rest assured, none of these samples have been taken from other sample cds. All are collected and re-recorded and processed to get rid of redundant info. It's not a super-big disc, though it contains samples that actually CAN be of use - unlike alot of other sample discs that contain alot of rubbish :)
Cheers,
Wim
PS: the kick in the first sample is a very popular one. It is in fact used by Airbase, though before him used by Above & Beyond, and before them probably by someone else as well. Then again, this sample didn't came from either of those tracks. |
