Damnit! Took so long writing my review, someone beat me to it.
It was HOT alright....
I think we all lost a good 5 lbs in sweat. Sorry if I was M.I.A. once Scumfrog showed up. The sanctity of the DJ booth was a good place to stay 'cool' (well, as best possible) in the main room. Hours later ventured downstairs to shake my booty to the beats when it seemed like some room had cleared up on the dance floor. All I know is Scumfrog made some new converts tonight!
A later than expected start from Jesse- around 3:15 am. Many 'big room' style tunes.
-Simmer- Scumfrog
-Let the Sun Shine Through- Cevin Fisher & Scumfrog
-Heartbeat- Annie (Scumfrog dub)
-Feel Alive- Shane Nolan (Scumfrog mix)
-Just Let Go- Fischerspooner (Scumfrog mix)

and the song that started it all (and my request)....
-Love at First Sight- Kylie Minogue (Scumfrog mix)
Coulda sworn on 3 occasions that Days Go By was coming up, but that was just the 'signature Scumfrog sound' playing tricks on me. We were all waiting for it as the last tune, and what took its place was a total let down. :( (Otherwise, no complaints at all) Party ended around 7:30am to a very satisfied crowd.
Loads of drumming and vocals, including the "Light My Fire" vocal segment he did last time at System.
Missed all the Brazilian themed dance shows, as I was outside on the patio getting air. Some dancers tried to out-do me with their gift to the Scumfrog, presenting him w/a MASSIVE stuffed frog holding a heart. (I still love my gift- a metal statue of a frog playing the drum, and outfitted w/a white feather boa, just as he wore at Dance Valley 2002).

Finally Clean!
After some problems with guestlist from a friend finally got in around midnight, wasn't really feeling the vibe until Oliver took over from the drum group, from then on nothing but good times.
Scumfrog was simply amazing - as I told Nat he's becoming my favorite DJ. We waited till the emd for Days Go By, but it never got played - start doing what you can Nat for the next time.
MarkT - told you that you were going to come and that Scumfrog would still be great in Guvernment.
Can't remember any of the names of the TA's I met, that will have to be left up to Mark or Nat to ID them for me - but as always it was a pleasure.
Off to breakfast and the Dr. Trance boat cruise. |

Well I wasn't even planning on going to guv tonite, but after a few pints at Black Bull that all changed and i was in a taxi!
I dont know what time i show'd up at, probably after 1am, Mark was just laying the beats on thick, real hard tracks, I was loving it.
Now I have only seen scumfrog 1 other time, and that was in jan. and he didnt play all that hard (from what i remember). So I was thinking WoW, mark is going to leave ScumFrog at a very high BPM, lol!
BUT Scumfrog came on and lay'd the place OUT. WOW Just absolutely amazing. I was loving his set from beginning to end (8.45am around i think).
Was a fantastic set, I am still in shock, that was not what I heard last Jan., I loved it!

solid solid night of tunes.. i was diggin' what MO was dropping early, and Scumfrog came on and killed it..
 dropped a bunch of siiick tunes.. to add to Nat's list..
- Dab Hands - Super Good (it took me like the whole song to remember the name)
- Moby - Raining again?? Definitely heard a Moby tune.
and I know I heard a swedish house mafia track.. i think it was Ingrosso - Get it Back.
sorry for leavin' without saying goodbye, but after the dab hands track i went inside and just danced like a maniac for a while.. as soon as i stopped, i was done.. just booked it ASAP at that point.. |

ladies and gentleman i just walked in the door from work....
i am simply ruined....even wemf didn't exhaust me like the last 35 hours have...but the time spent between 11 pm and 7.30 am last night made all the pain i felt today so worth it....
what an intense vibe...TA's rocked that front speaker without a shadow of a doubt last night and the scumfrog took a simply outstanding opener set from mark and blew it to a new level...wow wow wow ahhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!! i haven't felt like this about too many parties (wemf, lawler, my first guvy experience, etc...)how strange for it to happen on a night where the love of my life is in cuba and my best mate is on a trip back home (tully and funkyfun...you were sorely missed..get your asses back to canada ASAP..yes i know you ******s are reading this).
Shoutouts to all there in that lil circle (mark, nat,baki, neeta, steve, skuce, dallas and keep on adding names to this list)...
it was too bad bout days gone by..i woulda been bugged if he played it after i left....
James you bastard thanks for showing up...made the night all the more better..you're a freakin riot :)

MO and Scumfrog owned me.....so hot though...I ended up going right from the club to the golf course....not a good idea.
The only real complaint I have is the crowd.....I expected that type of crowd so I was prepared for it......it just seems so many ginos can ruin a night for me. |

well- got there at about 1ish...
haha good to share a cheer with you there Skillton ;).
Upon entry, I headed for the dancefloor and caught up with some of you who intro'd me to MO who was laying it down hard- a wee bit too hard for me at that time,lol :eek: The sweaty, topless men and speaker hugging Asians beginning to amass in large #s got me looking for more allies and out of the corner of my eye I saw the trademark smile of Cereal :). By the time SF came on at around 2am, a large group of us had gathered and we proceeded to dance our little feet off.
Jesse came in much harder than the last time I saw him at Guv., and I was ready to kick it up hard. and we did just that until the very end. With olschool tracks like Funkytown- Don't Cha- You Should Be Dancing, Jesse not only entertained but he literally worked us to the ground....sigh!
to all the party children I met and hung out with,
Nick & co- this freaking guy danced with a cane - props doode,
MarkT & co - well worth the wait :D

late review...net is down at home...then again, until now I was in no shape to post anyway :tongue3
I almost didn't go...then went, figuring on an early night with the Dr. Trance boat cruise at noon the next day...ended up shutting the place down sometime between 7:30am-8:00am!
MO was playing some funky, latin inspired beats when we got in a bit after mignight (after much drama with guestlist)...the shows were ok, nothing mind-blowing...MO came back on and dropped some pretty hard stuff for a bit.
Scumfrog...Jessie is one of those DJs who never disappoints and deserves every bit of success and recognition he has received. Solid DJ, brilliant producer, and puts on a heck of show with his drums, vocals, etc. I didn't leave the dancefloor all night and could barely walk when the lights came on. Teased us with Days Go By-ish intro moments...but hearing his remix (extended?) of Love at First Sight was F***ING INCREDIBLE. Solid set...and yes he proved me wrong with a great set in Guv...but I still prefer his sound in System ;)
A quiet TA turnout, but great meeting a few cool people most of whom shut the place down with myself, Jay (musicsnob_not) and Marc.
Neeta (voodoochild), finally...a pleasure! See, Guv isn't so bad ;)
Steve (cereal3825) and Sarah, very cool to meet you both!
JoinT, many thanks for the treats...it meant I was able to save one on my own for the boat cruise :)
