Riva - the most anonymous producer'?

This mysterious character has chosen to live life completely anonymous. The good thing is that this leaves everything to our own imagination; nationality, age, hobbies, even gender? I guess we will never know the answer to those questions.....
What we do know is that Riva is an absolute master/mistress in producing top notch techy proggy trance tracks. Riva had a release on AM:PM as DJ Manta with 'Holding On', a track which was based on 'Maid Of Orleans' by Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark. With the money made from this, Riva took an extensive holiday and hit back hard with the luscious 'Stringer' which was an instant dj darling the minute the tp's hit the decks. After being hammered by all the usual suspects and becoming Pete Tong's Essential New Tune it was signed to London Records. They invited super babe Dannii Minogue to feature on vocals. The result was beyond expectations, a massive cross over pop hit with an extraordinary video.
After many successful remixes such as Barthez – On The Move, Iio – Rapture, Armin van Buuren’s – Yet Another Day, Safri Duo – Samba Adagio and the massive remix of Weekend Players – Into The Sun.
Riva’s latest double a sided monster contained both Morning Dust and Runaway and were hammered by all the usual suspects and instant dj favourites.
What does Riva have in store next? When will he/she be back? Stay tuned...

And the info in discogs:
Riva / artists (R)
Real Name: Gaston Steenkist, Rene ter Horst
Profile: According to his profile on the United Recordings website, he likes to stay anonymous.
Gaston Steenkist and Alex Dijksterhuis form Trancesetters...
So Riva is two guys or one woman"? I'm confused...
Interesting info about Riva... dunno why these guys like to be anonymous... but well... good producers...
My fave: Time is the healer (Armin remix), morning dust adn stringer...

| There's nothing anonymous about them at all. I used to see one of them in Gatecrasher Republic all the time (I don't know which one, I thought it was just one guy). He was always trying to use his 'fame' to blag his way in for free. |
