I was telling a friend that I sent a track to that I always see purple glitter when listening to it. That's how we got into this discussion. Anyone experience anything else similiar when listening to music and to what tracks?!

Tasting musical notes?

Seeing sound?

Tasting shapes?

Feeling color?

Tasting words?

:eyes:

Wow. I don't know what to say. Someone recommend me some books. 10% of humans are, yes, I feel blessed with this.. disease? phenomenon? This breaks all barriers. I can't wrap my mind around it right now. Help, I don't even know how to pronounce this!
Linden Flowers
Some MDMA can make you a synaesthete.

Yes, I read that. I wish I was autistic. Maybe I shouldn't have said that. Could you imagine, though Linden? Those who live with this regardless of the mind altering substances? It would be.... you'd explode into thousands of particles! Just too much..

What, have people become so dismissive of their intellectual imagination that they dispel all notion of the cognitive transmission of thought to emotions and feeling??? Yes the color blue "tastes" sad
Estella
Occ.. occ. Tsk tsk.

It is sad, I agree. But you can't say that we don't become sort of "calloused" as to all the stimuli around us, which would result in this blessing of sorts. Sorry, I can't speak for you. I'm speaking for myself.

Huh? To be honest, I don't understand what you're talking about in your response. However, for the eddification of others I will explain what I'm talking about. Implying that a "good" song or a "good" person "inherentely" exhibits an aura of a color or taste that affords a preconceived forknowledge of the nature of said song/person is rediculous. Instead, people form associative bonds of color and taste that correspond to emotional evalutions. Therefore, I don't "taste" that a song sucks ass ... I realise it sucks, and correspondingly associate the taste of wet dog with it. Am I feeling sense?

Your explanation smells like burnt pubes.

That is a tad over my head. So you're saying it's first derived from emotion and then that stimuli that triggered an emotion is sent onwards, after that implication from emotion, to whatever taste, feeling, touch, sight or smell we associate it with? That makes this whole phenomenon less interesting :(
