For those of you who say "This could only happen in America" or something along those lines, perhaps it would be good to look at things in a little more perspective.
While I dont mean to disrespect anyone's country or heritage: The reason things like this don't happen in sub-Saharan Africa is because people are too busy worrying about things like "what will I eat tomorrow?", and AIDS, don't forget oppressive dictators and war-torn countries. In North Africa or the Middle East you most likely never do something like this on a private citizen's land, due to the fact that many governments there have strong, conservative Islamic leanings. Do something like this in China and you would probably all get thrown in jail.
There are many places in the world where raves and parties like this one go off without a hitch, but there are many more places in the world where raves like this are next to impossible. And when I say this I dont mean for rich tourists or visitors; I mean for the average citizens of the country.
I am not in any means trying to make an excuse or be-little the governments horrendous actions in this event, but I must say atleast we can AFFORD to throw a raid. At least we can criticize the government openly and freely and demand justice without fear of oppression.
America is not really that bad a place to live, when you realize that a large part of the world lives on less than $2 a day.
Sorry for the long post, I just get tired of Americans not realizing how lucky they are to be Americans.(Or Canadians Canadian, Or Europeans European, I just mean realize that if you post on these boards it probably means you are freakin rich when compared to the rest of the world.) |

| If anyone could show me where the "beating" on that video is I would appreciate it because all I see is someone on the ground getting arrested. It's even tamer than your run of the mill COPS takedown. This issue has been blown out of proportion. |

In the US, everyone is a potential criminal. The police act accordingly.
Why do you think there's 3 or 4 police cars when a cop pulls you over for some minor offense? |
lol i remember once, a cop pulled me over just as i was about to pull into my dorm parking lot. 5 seconds later anotehr car shows up, and the coppers keep asking me if the car i'm driving is mine, repeatedly. I was thinking :wtf: what kind of criminal steals a car and then drives back to his dorm with it. Is it so inconcievable that a brown-skinned dude could actually own a Mitsu GTO???
They kept questioning me for like 10 mins, till i said i was gonna call my embassy. Soon as I said that they buggered off, double time. :p
