"Let's take a look at the evidence," said ECFR senior fellow Gregory Lunsden."In Matthew 15:14, Jesus says, 'And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.' He says nothing about some gravity making them fall—just that they will fall. Then, in Job 5:7, we read, 'But mankind is born to trouble, as surely as sparks fly upwards.' If gravity is pulling everything down, why do the sparks fly upwards with great surety? This clearly indicates that a conscious intelligence governs all falling."

lets take a look at the evidence HA.

and so wot if physicists havent unified gravity with quantum theory yet. they will eventually, just like nearly 100 years ago when maxwell unified electricity with magnetism to 'create' electromagnetism

joke
n.

1. Something said or done to evoke laughter or amusement, especially an amusing story with a punch line.

And as was pointed out twice earlier... http://theonion.com/news/index.php?issue=4133&n=2

In a dream I dropped a ball, and that ball fell to the ground.

Did that ball fall because of gravity?

Energy tells spacetime how to curve, spacetime curvature tells energy (or mass, E=mc²) how to move. I really can't condense General Relativity to better than that. Einstein was thé man :)

people still tend to use newtonian gravitation principles for terrestrial stuff, and its fine until you get into anything large scale or micro scale...

The biggest chunk missing from it was when it was an invisible force doing all this stuff. The bending of light around suns clearly showed a time-space curvature, and its kind of crazy when you use the constant as the speed of light and talk about falling objects.

If you use a laser pointer and throw a marble to the same spot, they are both taking the exact time space path. 1 happened near instantly and the other 5 seconds. 5xspeed of light gives you a huge number and flattens out its curve

as you can see, the time it ends up being in universal time is 5x 3.8x10^2 which makes its path through space time MUCH less of a curve and it lines up perfectly with laser path. The laser path just ended up travelling a shorter distance on that same path. So it isnt how long it takes...they had wildly different space-time coordinates @@

umm you mean to say that shooting stars/falling stars are actually...planets?:wtf:

Heh.. The Onion kicks ass :) Check out the other articles as well.. good stuff.

Shooting stars may have even been suns.

Just the same as a human throwing a rock; but instead of the rock it's a planet, & instead of a human it is a matrix of mega suns in an orgy of movement. A plant could be flung throughout a network of sun orbits, gaining acceleration with each orbit, before it is flung into space at an massive velocity. At such massive speed the elements that make up the planet would change it & converted it into energy/heat. It could possibly be a flaming energy mass that speeds through galaxies at a velocity close to the speed of light.

love the sketch!! :haha: :haha: :stongue: :stongue: :stongue:

& a good point. :p

I dont think so... why would moving through empty space generate heat

I think you are right.

why is the earths Core hot?
-because the inner core pressures are huge!

why does the sun generate heat?
-because of the turbulent eruptions of energy at the surface (due to the massive core pressure). but is also has alot to do with the types of elemental reactions.

A large moving mass is made up of elements. When elements shake or vibrate they create heat. These elements will react & clash with each other & trasfer into heat. Friction creates heat; so if an object is moving a massive speeds, would it not have internal frictions & reactions????....

On the other hand comets travel at high speeds, but they are very freaken cold. Of course they would be travelling through the vacuum of space. But maybe the speed is not fast enough to call it a "falling star". Maybe speed has something to do with it. The closer the object is to light speed, the hotter it becomes??? im not sure... probably wrong.

that would probably be more due to tidal friction than anything, but suns are usually self regulating based on the amount and type of fuel @@

edit:

velocity wouldnt do anything, it would have to be friction of some sort, either normal friction, or the friction from other massive bodies causing it to flex...its why Io (Jupiter moon) is so volcanic

damn straight! ;)

& our sun has only got 4.5 billion years worth of fuel left! :(
