My girlfriend has bought me a one hour flying lesson. I cant wait to get airborne again! I only have about 2 hours of experience under my belt but thats because its so damn expensive (£125 for an hour/ $224 USD)
Today im flying in a Cessna 172 Diesel. I've already flown the Grob Tutor and the Piper Warrior so this is my first time in an overwing aircraft. I cannot wait!!! :toothless
I will try to upload pics/video when i get back.

If you were flying a plane, yes it counts.
If you were on a magic carpet, then no it doesnt :p |

| Neither apply to me. But the idea about the flying carpet sounds interesting. |

Yup. Private Pilot's License for 2 1/2 years. About 100 hours. Prior to that flying gliders for 3 years with about 120 hours. Love it all.
You will like the 172. Very light on the controls and easy to fly. To bloody slow for travelling decent distances though. (Mind you, the UK is a little smaller than Australia!!).
I'm building one of these . . . .

172 was unavalible so i flew the PA-28 Diesel. Was different from the standard PA-28, handeled differently.
I Loved It so much!
Pics and Vids to come later.
PS i Flew over Prince Charles house at about 1,500ft :p |

Meh. Thought this might be about RitM.
The first time I flew, my dad had his friend take me up in her little single engine Cessna. It was pretty cool stuff. I even got to take the controls.
I'd love to take a lesson or two.. hell, I'd love to have aviation be my major in college, but the market is too slim and probably won't gain all that much in my lifetime. |

LSD and falling off cliffs about sum of my flying experience...outside of riding in commercial airlines or buzzing around in military aircraft.

I liked the low wings better than the high wings personally... felt like the landings were a lot smoother. 172 was kind of cramped for a 6foot1 guy. I understand the benefits of cessnas and what not, just didnt seem as fun.
I only put about 42 hours of flying in, I ended up not liking it as much as scuba diving and stuff so I just am going for scuba instructor now hehe |
