So I am in the market for an mp3 player. I don't have lots of cash to be throwing away on a player that has more space than what I have on my computer. I was thinking something within the 5 gig range. I just want to load it up with a couple sets and what not.
However, there are a couple of features I wouldn't mind having...
A resume that lets me stop the set and then pick back up right were I left off.
A line in for recording would also be helpful.
Can anyone reccommend a player that does both or either of these things. If not, what is a good player within the 200-300 range? |

Can't go wrong with iRiver IHP-120/140. (20GB, 40GB). They're awesome, so simple, no special software, it shows up as a drive letter, drag&drop. It's USB 2.0, has optical line in/out also has regular line in/out. Recording is a breeze like that, encodes 320kbps MP3 or direct to WAV. I have NO complaints about it. I've actually heard they've made the new ones more of a pain in the ass. Firmware is easy to update and adds new features sometimes. |

Cant u record using the Creative Labs Zen Micros?
They're around the 200$ range *I think* and they come in 4, 5 and 6 gig sizes.
Next best thing to an iPod if you ask me.

Yes they are big pain int he ass now. I would highly recomend against them. You cannot just drag and drop the files anymore, you have to go through windows media player 10, which is a pain and a half.
the Iriver H320 is your best bet in terms of the features you are looking for. It maybe 20gigs and priced higher, but it has all the features you are looking for.
The creative zen micro's are your best bet for price and use, but the only problem is that it does not have a line in(it does have a built in mic). Im not too sure of any other plays that small, which have line-ins, except the new irivers, and i highly recommend against it. |
