You guys are never gonna believe this but I am leaving for the Czech Republic the weekend of Labor day.
Thats like less than 2 weeks.
My boss called me in his office today and was like well I have an opportunity for you.....I am like ya, ya, what is it. I am thinking someplace really cool or exotic. Last October I went to Ireland and England.
So he says how would you feel about traveling to the Czech Rep for a week or so to help out our office there.
Well of course I said yes cuz it will be a good opportunity and hopefully open doors for me to travel to other offices. Now I am freaked out though cuz I have been reading up on it and all these websites are like watch out for pick pockets. They will steal your and you will never even know. Plus the other thing is I am traveling by my self.
Oh well, I guess I should be happy that they though highly enough of me to ask me to fly half way around the world to help out.
Anyway....random comment of the day.
Anyone else been to crazy places for work??? |

alisa, dont worry at all! i spent almost a week in the czech republic this summer, and it was a TON of fun! i would be careful with your stuff, but i wouldnt really worry about it at all - the people are very nice, love americans (cuz we bring lots of money haha!), and the czech republic is actual a very popular spot in europe for vacationers, because it's so cheap and still very nice (so you wont be the only foreigner!) it's also very beautiful, and there's tonssss of cool old architecture and stuff from the middle ages, cuz it wasnt very heavily bombed during the wars like the rest of europe.
anyway, enuf of my ramblings, you should have a blast! what parts are you going to?? prague especially is AWESOME (they have the biggest club in europe there), and the rest of southern czech republic is really nice and pretty too ;)
enjoy the cheap shopping, get yourself some pimp european clothes, get some legal prostitutes at the mall, and get drunk off of 75cent beers!!! :wtf:
im wicked jealous :sadgreen: :tongue2 |

| OMG, WAIT until you see Prague... often hailed as the most beautiful city in Europe... But, Eastern Europe is gorgeous... u are sooooooooo lucky! Enjoy! :D |

You didnt say which city you are going to but i would probably guess Prague... The City of 100 Spires(tall pointy buildings)... I visted there about 4 years back now... Club Lavka (or something close to sounding like that) was pretty sweet.. multi levels and tons and tons of people from all over the world there... its near the end of the Charles bridge.... oh and of course... the Absinthe... the home to the craziest drink you can ever find... the pure real deal stuff... i think weed might be legal too if you are into that sort of thing, but i dunno...
its ridiculously cheap... i went with 9 friends and we hopped off the train with no place to stay and at teh train station a guy came up and offered us his hotel with transportation to and from station in some Audi's.. 3 bedroom 1 bath w/ kitchen for $12 a night+ free beer..
oh.. i could go on and on.. im so jealous....
and as far as weird places work sends you.... Oklahoma and Iraq..... i still cant figure out which one is weirder... |

I've been to Prag many, many times -- and It's not really that dangerous. I never got mugged in Prag (for comparison: I got mugged in Amsterdam three times). The best way to deal with it is to keep your money in a bag around your neck or in a hidden pocket in your belt/shoes/underwear AND keep a crisp, clean $20 bill in your pocket at all times to give to muggers upon request so that they leave you alone. Also you might not want to wander around unfamiliar neighborhoods late at night alone. Use the buddy system!
Other than that you are practically guarateed a good time. Where else can you buy up the whole mall and only spend $5?
Drinking age is 16 and the bars never close.
Weed is NOT legal, but the drug laws are only loosely enforced.
Hotels are dirt cheap, so get a big suite in a nice hotel (with sattelite TV and a hottub and such).
Bring your camera -- you'll need it all the time!
