Hey everyone! Ok so here's the story: I was in Scarborough on the weekend looking for a place to stay (because I start school there really soon). Anyways, I found a room in a house and it was awesome. I told the guy that I would get back to him in 2 days, and today when I call him to say I'm going to take the place he says, "No, someone else took it". great. just effing great. :( I live 4 hours away and I can't get out there to do more searching. I was just wondering if anybody knows of available/inexpensive/safe places in Scarborough that will be available starting september 1st? I don't mind sharing an apartment or just renting a room in a house. Any information will be extremely helpful. Thanks in advance :)

| Giving Scarborough a bad rap seems like the thing to do these days but there are many peaceful, family-oriented neighbourhoods around. Katie, which school do you plan on attending? |

ASE 1. It's a grade 11 and 12 alternative school. I have 5 more high school credits to get before i can move on to college or university, and I heard a lot of amazing things about ASE 1. Plus I have a good friend who goes there which means I won't be completely alone :) So as long as I can find a room or other shared accomodations to rent, I will be all set!

| what's the intersection? i have some friends who went to ase for OAC b/c they could get amazing grades there w/o having to do as much work, so they could get into much better university programs w/o busting their butts too much.. w/ ASE you don't have to go to school as much (not every day) so I you probably don't have to be too too close since i think you just sort of drop in a couple times a week. but i think you might get better results from ppl if you post the intersection or a geographic area where you want to live |

great idea...I should have thought of that before. ASE 1 is located on Brimley Road. I THINK it is near Ellesmere and McCowan.

and you might also want to mntion what your price point is
near the scarborough town centre (ellesemere and mcCowan) there are some decent condo buildings (friends of mine used to rent there when they were tecahing in scarborough) you might want to check to see if anyone is renting a room out of them, b/c i think they are a little nicer and safer than a lot of places in the area, living close to the town centre would also be advantageous b/c it's close to school and the RT which connects w/ the subway so you can have easy access to downtown. |
