That would be kind of silly, in my opinion, to do a "Thrillseekers Remix" of a Thrillseekers track, but he could use one of his other aliases...En Motion, Hydra, Rapid Eye, Insigma etc...to turn it more into a melodic trance or epic trance tune for the peak hour on the dance floor. As I noted in my earlier post, and I agree with you..that it does seem like he was trying to make an early morning...slightly slower tempo prog tune and not a peak-time trancer.

"Dreaming Of You" was certaintly not peak time either, except for some of the remixes (Svenson & Gielen or the Flutlicht Remix for example), but the original did have a more trance orientated melodic hook than "By Your Side" does. "By Your Side" seems to go more towards the rhythmn and the vocals than the melody. This is fine, as long as Steve was intended for this track to go in the prog direction. He could have combined all of that though, as there is plenty of melodic prog out there that makes use of all three (or two) elements. Some are just more pronounced than others, so maybe it's good to have something a little different from Steve...which is fine in my book.

Yup .. that is exactly what I meant by "ThrillSeeker Mix :) (should have said Steve Helstrip I beleive :D )

I agree with you

I heard that Steve will be doing a more clubby remix of this, so can't wait for that. I really like this mix. True it doesn't have a strong melodic synth, but this track is all abouthe vocals and the guitar for me. Good to see thrillseekers doing something different imo.
Project 7
Insigma mix would be sweet
Grrrrr
There is an awful lot of complaining on these boards that producers don't vary their style enough, yet when they do - people complain

u need a little touch up on this .. !!

Its not exactly that ,in case of some producers like Steven Helstrip who are not very prolific to the truest sense of the word and who also command such a huge fan base (me being obe of them) people simply cant have enough of their original sounds.Hence when a Thrillseeker track comes out we expect it to sound like Thrillseeker. We welcome his efforts to sound Proggy and we love the results but personally I would have been 950 times happier if it would have reminded me of the original and Old Thrillseeker sound !!

Peace ;)

just saw this, ill check it out, thanks.

This is a 'nighttime' mix by Steve, hence why it sounds prog and mellow. Rest assured that there will be a peak hour trance mix of this.

Not the same style as the old Thrillseekers but I can still hear some Thrillseekers in it and I absolutely loved it the first time I heard it on ASOT (pity Armin didn't play out the track long enough) :whip: .

I really can't wait until its released.

EDIT: Also I'm not good with genre classifying and I still feel this track is trance... And here lots of people are mentioning it is more prog?? Doesn't sound like prog to me at all? So which is it? :conf:
