read on metro today, today (thoguht i might share with those that dont read the metro):

Where are they now? With World Clique, Infinity Within (1992), and Dewdrops In The Garden (1994), New York scenesters Deee-Lite helped bring club music to the masses. Clubgoers relished in the trio's melange of funk, house, jazz, soul and trance along with lyrical social consciousness.
And given Kier's penchant for drag-queen-esque stylin', complete with platform shoes and pink-dyed hair, Deee-Lite presented themselves as a visually appealing outfit for the MTV generation as well as the clubgoer set. The clubbin' types, however, were oblivious to what was happening within the Deee-Lite ranks.
In 1994, DJ Towa Towa renamed himself Towa "Towa" Tei and left the group to pursue a solo career. His successor, DJ Ani, came to the fore on the rave-culture-influenced Dewdrops In The Garden disc, but it failed to replicate Groove Is In The Heart-like success. That same year, Kier and Dmitry, married around the time Deee-Lite formed, had separated.
Following 1996's remix CD Sampladelic Relics and Dancefloor Oddities, Deee-Lite disbanded. Lady Kier is still active spinning as a DJ (as is Dmitry) in New York, and had enjoyed a day job as a computer graphics artist, according to www.weht.net.
In 2003, Kier sued video-game giant Sega, claiming that a character in one of their games had been based on her persona and used without permission. (If you know the outcome of this suit, let me know.)

Lady Kier was spinning here last month...there's a thread somewhere, I think Nat posted it?
Deee-lite rocked and World Clique is a very cool CD...one of my faves and ahead of it's time, IMHO! :toocool:
I'll have to take a look for the remix...any idea who did it? |

OMG I just heard it last Friday and watched as the crowd went insane to it. Ya...it is pretty fun :D |
