There's this new guy in my office and technically you could call him my boss, but I swear the guy does less work than I do, and that's not exactly a whole heck of a lot.
The thing that really gets me about him is that he's always on the phone, and it's never a business call, and he talks ...so...friggin...loud... I mean, my dad in his office in the corner can hear him, the IT guys can hear him down the hall, and he just keeps going!!! We've asked him three times to lower his voice on personal calls and stuff, but he just shrugs and says, "I've got a big voice, I can't help it." Uhm, DUDE! Just tone it down a notch!
Then there's this other girl who used to work here and now she works from home, but she decided to show up this week and annoy the crap out of all of us. She's in her first year Masters (I work at a University) and instead of coming in to work on a story (I'm also a journalist), she's working on her lit review for a course. HELLO! JOURNALISM OFFICE!! NOT HOMEWORK OFFICE!! She used to bring in all her friends and have them take over our work computers so that they could do homework too.

*venting over*.

Share the coworker horrors, people, get it off your chest!
Or gimme suggestions on how to fix these annoyances!! :(

one of my coworkers at the banquet hall did ALL of her work for her other job in the office here and instead of trying to hide it, she actually made a folder and saved it all ON THE COMPUTER. Eventually my boss found out and she got canned.

At the other hall(Roy Thomson) one of my coworkers there is overly perfectionist and everything has to be in certain order from where the ice should go (theres more than one ice container) to what order the pop goes and how many to put out; how the glassware and liquor should be set up. He even goes so far to determine exactly how much coffee should be made and how full the sugars, creamers etc should be filled. If you change one thing behind on him, he loses it and cant function properly, and is some what out of sorts. So of course, we always mess with his set up and get him going. Just makes the shifts more interesting :p

LOL I used to have a friend like that, she had to have everything done a certain way... drove me nuts... I eventually 'lost touch' with her... I couldn't handle it anymore.

I'm the youngest on my team and within everyone in my near viscinity. My typical conversation is "hey, how about that weather". But they're all nice people, and if anything, most of them probably don't like the fact that I spend a lot of time on personal calls. THankfully no bug infestations and bad BO.

This is a true story...

Back before I decided I preferred to freelance my skills
I worked for a boss who was a bully...yes a bully. He often did things to make the ladies break into tears. I was the the company admin and one lady above me was the office manager.

I worked there for many years. Watched and observed everything. Covered my ass and the asses of the ladies...that's only fair since I was in higher management capacity

So what started to break down my resistance...was our Office Manager who had no computer title or hands on experience (I alwys suspected she was the on call extra-marital affair...and she was good at it too...but I didn't feel sorry for his wife...they deserved each other). I had to do her work and mine too. The ladies all knew it. She took credit for my work and passed it off as hers all the time to the boss. She had the best job in the place. Unlike the rest of us...she got the job bc she knew the boss' wife. That was pretty much it. Had some uni...but nothing related to what was required.
Her arrival time was 10am...and her departure time was 3pm...with 1 hr paid lunch.
She worked 3 days per week.
Salary was around the 60K per annum

But what really got to me and made me decide this was the final straw...was when she was asked to purchase the computers and she had no friggin clue about computers or their parts. She didn't even have an MCSE. I told her I could not help her..and she sicked the boss on me and I had to hear the bs words which management always take pride in saying..."ur gonna have to be flexible and work as a team if you wanna continue here" So I had to agree because of the old rule (rule #1 boss is always right...rule#2 see rule #1) and I helped her ass again while planning my escape.

Newayz...long story short. I bottled up too much and finally decided to take back control. I left his crisis management ass...told him what was what...but still covered my ass cuz I've seen what he's done to the other people who left (he was a nasty piece of work)
...bottom line is I moved on

The moral of this story...always protect your ass....and make sure b4 u tell it like it is....make sure it is timed well and controlled
I was lucky...I did it right..but others weren't so lucky

The end!

BTW...Found out 3mths after I left....all 6 ladies under me left him. And the office manger...had to leave...cuz she cudn't do her work anymore...I wasn't around to save her ass

There was a girl in my office that used to pull that all the time too, b4k-oz (same girl as my original post, actually)... she'd come in and be all flustered and then she'd turn to me and say, "I need you to call so-and-so because I really don't have time for it right now, I've gotta do this and this and this..." And I'd be like, "can't you do it later?" and she's like, "No, this other stuff needs to be done right away and then I've got this and this later and just please do it." If she coulda just managed her time a little better, she could have been able to handle everything. My biggest problem is that I usualy get stuff done too fast, then I sit around bored for the rest of the day.
