That reminds me of watching adults play Nintendo when they'd move the controller in the direction they want the on screen character to move.

which reminds me of being 7 and playing SMB and always jumping whenever Mario did on-screen :p

btw Yan, it's not really noticable.. not in your pics anyways. i wouldn't worry about surgery unless its something that causes you dire pain.

Looks like I'll be getting the corrective surgery + braces this summer. I really can't wait. I want my smile back.

mines the other way as I said, but again I want the surgery, I have to lose some weight as i have let myself go a lot lately, but soon most of my problems will be gone so I can work on it, but it does suck to have it, and it's painful too :(

me also, but it's not because of my jaw, it's because i never wore my retainer when i was younger.

I have the same bite as this. My lower jaw is back a bit; Like a miss bite. My jaw is pretty flexible though, & usually sits forward with the top incisor teeth. Sometimes I get lazy & it slips back & flush up against the top molars.

Mine too its like that, so we have.. Inverse Prognathism?

Your lower teeth should be behind the upper ones. Here is a more accurate description:

quote:
The lower back teeth will fit "inside" the "line" of the back upper teeth and intermesh precisely with the upper back teeth one half tooth in front of the upper back teeth. The lower front teeth will lightly touch the back of the upper front teeth. No teeth will be misaligned or rotated, nor will there be any observable crowding or spaces of the teeth.

I'd have to post a lot of pics before you can start noticing it fairly defined. The problem is, I have a really ugly smile and lost my photogenic/slightly above average looks because of this jaw. Not to mention, I can't chew my food properly (leads to indigestion) due to my jaw tiring quickly.

I'm sorry to hear that. As long as you tackle one thing at a time, you'll eventually be in tip top shape with a nice smile. :)

I'm sure there's a way to still fix that, no?

Snagged from Wikipedia:

Retrognathism is when the upper front teeth are 3mm+ prominent from the lower front teeth. It usually means you have a short mandible.

I have a very slight overbite, but when I went to the denist he told me I had great teeth - on top of that I always had people asking me if I had braces when I was younger because my teeth are well aligned... I never did and more surprisingly than that is the fact that I had never been to a dentist, the first time I went to one was 2 years ago, had one cavity to fill. I think the next time I go I might get a bleaching along with a cleaning.

Both are going to pwn your enamel. If you want to keep them pearly whites healthy, stay away!

Alright so... I'm meeting with the surgeons on the 18th of this month. We'll be scheduling a bunch of mandatory pre-operation stuff (like a CT scan, MRI, etc.) which should run me through the end of the month, which is around the time when I'd be having the surgery.

To add to the :whip: of this entire situation, my upper teeth are moving apart, leaving a big gap between my front teeth. Either way, I'll get some Invisalign's to treat my teeth after the operation.

By the way, for people just joining the thread, this is what they'll be doing to my bottom jaw:
