Strange sound file ... encoded msg? Help plz!

Hiya!

It's a strange thing with that file...
Okay, I'll explain it: I downloaded a file from WinMX ... was from DJ Tiesto (forgot the title ... think it was Suburban Train) so I thought nuthing bad. As it was complete (very fast, cause it was so small ... but I noticed that later...) I opened it and had a shock! The artist in the Winamp playlist was NOT Tiesto ... it was Blind Guardian! And the song itself had the title "Lammoth". And this song was so very strange I can't get it outta my head any more. It sounds like a great chaos ... like there is something ... I can't describe ... whispering, crackling, screaming ... all in one ... I dunno ... this file was strange ... can't get it outta my head again. I informed myself about that group Blind Guardian. It's a metal group. But that song ... I don't even know if it's played by that group ... it sounded so ... I can't describe it. I increased the pitch and the effect was that this special kinda screaming became louder ... it's strange...

Well, okay. I can't get it outta my head again. Now I wanna know what things can be done to "encode" such a strange chaos when I come over it again. I need a prog that can play mp3s from the end to the beginning, increase/decrease pitch and many options to equalize. And all that for free. Where can I get such a prog? Does it exist?
And another question: what can be done to an audio file to include things like secret messages or files? And where can I get an encoder? Erm ... and is there a prog that every file can be viewed in its single bits?

Many questions, I know. But it got me!

Steganography (spelling?) is one way to include secret messages in sound and picture files. I don't know too much about it, apart from the fact that a brief message in a picture or song should not change the sound/look of it too much. You could probably get some free progs off the net somewhere.
RTP
Yeah ... I know about stenography. But normally the sound shouldn't change so that other ppl don't know about the secret msg.
And the file isn't so big that there could be such a big file stenographed into it that the sound would change.
Well ... it's just a bit strange. I thought about these music files that have another, sometims better melody or secret messages included when they are reversed...
Just wanna know ... can't get that file out of my head again ...

Haha, yea I remember a metal record and if you played it backwards you would hear this guy whisper "kill you dad with a gun"

you can also include subliminal messages by playing the msg back at half the speed and blending it very soft in the mix.

Now you mention it, I think I'm gonna do some messaging in my own stuff "give me money give me money"

winamp will change all eq effects and u can change pitch...

go to www.winamp.com and dl winamp.. then go to the plugin section and download the plugin called 'NT Pitch'.. u can alter the pitch up to +128% and down to -64% :)

Lammoth:
Morgoth is calling for help after Ungoliant, a giant spider, has attacked him in the far Northeast of Middle Earth. The echos of his call should last eternally, so that this land was called Lammoth (the Great Echo) from then on

Lammoth: The shoreland region of the Great Echo

Hidden message: people screaming in the land of the Great Echo

Damnit, ure right ... this could be true, cuz that track is a scream when played fast!
And Blind Guardian is famous for song titles that have to do with Middle Earth ... like "Lord Of The Rings" (yes ... this is a track!) and so on.
Thx @ Ripped Bag !!!

And BTW @ tu_face: I have winamp ... and I know the equalizer ... but I want a better one ... and winamp can't play a song backwards a.f.a.i.k. ...

Well ... okay ... I think the mystery is solved...

LoL :D

In my first post I said that I increased the pitch to hear the scream ... well, I increased it about +150bpm! And that's far more than +128% when 100% is the original speed...
So for this that NT Pitch would be rather useless ... :p

Well ... thx anyway ;)
TiestoInTheMix
wouldn't it be fun to create a really addictive track and put something like "dance, dance, dance, you wanna dance, you wanna listen to this track all day and all night" into it? :toothless
