I don't think trance by itself can be "sad". It all depends on the lyrics. No One On Earth isn't sad at all, the lyrics are rather hopeful.
Yes trance alone can be uplifting, but sad?, naw. |
I thought the whole point of minor scales is that they are sad sounding. |

"no one on earth knows me like you do" that line alone sounds more passionate and "close to someone"..... so not sad.
A "sad" sounding song, I would say is "fallen" by sarah mclachlan, or definately "world is on fire". |

| I believe that Sublime is way more emotional than No one on earth but i don't think that I could classify them as really sad tracks...Just tracks which sound "not so overhyped" style |

| No One On Earth defo....cracking tune but its sadder than "sublime" because those vocals have an effect on mood plus that bassline.....:( |

No One On Earth.
But I prefer the G&D mix.
I actually find it depressing and haunting.
"I wanna be the one that you take home. Let me be the one...Cause I'm so lonely..."
and my personal favorite line
"You're so ugly and your so beautiful..."
I'm sorry but those don't seem hopeful to me in the least. |
