| For all you resident djs out there I got a question, and this is mainly geared toward those that have a weekly residency, but any help is appreaciated, How do you manage to keep things fresh? Do you have a set amount of times that you play a tune, then decide its been played out? |

resident DJs have a much easier time getting on a variety of record pools, thus constantly recieve new material without draining their bank account from purchasing all of it (like us non-residents do)
...thats my current theory on how they keep things fresh. As far as dated material, if the majority of the crowd would react positively to a track, then it really isnt necessary to stop playing said track altogether. only when most of the people have already heard it too many times and it just wouldnt fit, thats when it times to move on

Werd.
Its alot easier when you get on promo pools. I just used the money from gigs to buy more records.
As far as knowing when to not play a record anymore..you won't see as much of a pop from the audience.
Most of the time though, you will have moved on. |

Most of the time you gotta be a resident somewhere, cuz they dont tend to send a limited number free records unless their potentially getting alot exposure. Most pools are overrated though, maybe 1 outta 20 tracks you get from em is gonna be worth playing out. (imo) |
