Here are some pics for now ;) I loved seeing everyone. You Miami and Orlando guys rock for making the drive and coming up for this party. Review will come later, I had a good time of course, despite some issues that I will be writing an email to Amp about. Paul your set was great as usual. You just needed more time, ESPECIALLY when it's for YOUR bday bash. I'm sure the other reviews will sum it up as well.

I started to post this in the other thread, but Colleen has directed me to this one...so here goes my copy and paste. Sorry for the negative post. :p
Mondo's set was horrible. I have no words for that set. Paul was disrespected more than once last night (you guys don't know all of it). Paul not being able to spin until well after 1am was a joke. Who the hell did the Amp think all of those people were there to see??? I was there to have fun and to listen to my best friend spin. I was there for the music. I guess that's something the Amp won't ever understand...hence the ty ass music being played before Paul went on. Brian on the mic was simply more than I could take. Notice that he shut the hell up after I had some words with him. At that point I didn't care about what someone's opinion was of me. Talking over Inter City...the track that I asked Paul to spin...pissed me the hell off. If I wanted to listen to Brian all night I would call him on the damn phone. Renzo getting arrested was quite interesting. I still don't know what transpired after he was asked to walk off by that one cop. Someone please enlighten me. :p
I want to thank all of you that drove in from Miami, Orlando, etc to be there last night...that truly meant a lot to me and Paul. I love you guys! :D A big thank you to our friend, Frederick, that flew in from CA last night. :wtf:

Boy, I'LL say Mondo's set was crap! Not genre bashing here, but he mixed things in that shouldn't have been mixed in! Breaks with BOOTY rap/, a few old tracks with other stuff...it just didn't make any sense! I was sober most of the night so I remember some of that.....uh, I dunno. Silliness. Me and the SoFLTA kept making faces at each other. We said OMGWTFBBQ a LOT more than just once!
Paul's set: he opened with Paul van Dyk - The Other Side (Deep Dish remix), followed by Deep Dish - Say Hello (original mix?) All great track selection. The thing is though, everytime the ad for the radio show came on, I thought it was a trainwreck, but I heard nothing but flawless mixing. Not to mention, that damn fool on the mic kept running his mouth during oh, I don't know...99.9 percent of the night? For sake. Nice job Amber putting that tool in his place. I recorded about an hour and 20 minutes of video which I will get to encoding by the end of this week, hopefully. Oh yeah, the sex show just before Paul went on. I was like, WHAT THE . I didn't expect to see THAT in the Amp. That was bizarre, last place I'd see that was at Vegas Cabaret and at least there was more revealed female flesh. Took only a few pics last night. Will be posted in a bit. But anyway...
Regardless of the weirdness (and aftermath drama outside), I had a great time. Was grest seeing everyone out there, and many thanks to Paul for getting us in on the guest list AND VIP. Damon stopped by and in uniform, and I was like, "Oh . We're in trouble now!"
Was awesome road-tripping up with Eric, Mel, Flo, Karen, Lis and Anthony. Nice meeting trancengry56, who rarely posts in FLTA. All in all a good night.

the cops were being dicks cuz he was walking away and they just kept following him and harrassing him. that was bull. i was gonna say something too but knowing ybor cops, i didnt want to get pepper sprayed and tasered just for looking at them. as for santana's set, dope as always. and like amber said, he should've gone on earlier. it was his freakin bday! btw paul, i forgot to give you your present. i'll give it to you next tiime i see u. me and matt were a tad bit dissapointed with colleen's "confrontation" with a skeptic out on the dance floor but it's all good. i dont think he understands what ta really means. wish i could've gone to the afterparty but good times nonetheless, good times. |
