hmmmmm, so i got some butterflies in me now :D:D:D
ahhh ...ok...so i went to my god-sister's wedding yesterday, and...met this really nice girl there :)
so um, it was really wonderful, like a top atmosphere, wonderful food, really great occasion & alcohol to get it all started
anyway i really enjoyed her company, and i think she enjoyed mine (well she said that :D when we left) we talked pretty much all night & even danced a bit too (tho i wouldn't call what i did, dancing :D) we were sitting next to each other at a table, but it was supposed to be my brother's spot. however, he couldn't stay for the dinner and it was kinda by chance she even came to the wedding, as she was only there to see the bride (her friend's sister) off from the ferry (service was on an island)...but the bride's mother (my godmother) saw her & said she should come to the reception & was given my brother's place. so i feel it was kinda like a fatefull meeting, tho i'm prolly just scratching :p
so, i was really attracted to her and i want to see her again...but ahh, i've never done this before :( i don't mean purely physically attractive, but she has a very nice personality & nature...i admire her for her achievements & goals in life and think i really want to know her better, at least as a friend hopefully
well, i have to ring a friend to get her number, but i was kinda wanting to hear what kinda things people like to do for a first date?
i am really clueless...:p
also, i have to go back to my other city in february & she is going overseas to uk in june or july for a year...what do you think of short term relationships, or long distance ones?
...damn i always seem to choose the hard ones :clown:
hmm, i guess i just felt the need to put this down somewhere but hopefully it will be an interesting thread :)

Personally I've found that long-distance relationships don't work too well when the person is overseas for more than 6 months. But since she's not going forever it is definitely worth getting in touch with this girl if you think there's the potential for something special to develop.
The only long distance relationships that I have known to work out, are those where the people had the means to travel a lot and see each other regularly or when the relationship got put on hold while the people were apart. - I mean they decided to cool it off and see other people while they were apart.
As for how to get in contact with her: don't think about it too much, you'll just get more nervous, and build it up into a huge thing and increase the chances of stuffing it up. Everyone's probly had that experience - you build a date up into a huge thing in your mind, so when it actually happens you don't even know what to talk about :).
I would do the following: Just get her number off someone give her a call and say something along the line of: "yada yada yada.. really enjoyed talking to you the other day... yada yada... wanna get together for lunch one of these days?...." |

My advice would be to just keep in contact while shes still here in Australia, and just stay as friends. Then when she gets back from overseas see her some more and if the attraction between you still exists then go for a relationship. There are two ways the relationsip could head if you got involved now:
1. You could end up not being right for each other, which would suck.
2. You could end up being right for each other, which could suck even more cos you wouldnt see her for a whole friggin year!! Also being her b/f for the 5 or 6 months that she has left in Australia maybe isnt long enough to find out how special this girl really is.

First, you blunder already by NOT asking during that time! :whip: :P
Now, you got a problem. Are ya feeling anxious about calling her? Don't fret over details of the future you cannot predict (ie: long distance relationshiop). Let's deal with the current events instead. Now, there's really no manual on how to (uh) bring up the question. You just be cool and calm about it on the phone:
"heya , how are you doing! Where have you been? I've been waiting for you to call me! haha Then she talks.. blah blah blah.. Then..
I wanted to ask you about getting together? How's that sound to you?"
Easy and simple with some playfulness.. You can come up with other variations of the same theme.
The other part before calling her:
Do 50 pushups
Flex in the mirror
Chug down 5 shooters
..And yer ready to rip! hahaha
The main goal is to be cool, not sound like some desperate monkey. neheh
Go them tiger.. :P

heheh, okay
...just an update for anyone interested :D:D:D
well...went out to see monsters inc tonight LOL!!!
it's cool movie...originally planned for lord of the rings, but it was totally booked out all over sydney...it was opening day today (technically yesterday, actually)
anyway, went out for coffee later & had a really great time
so hoping to see her more during the holidays...hopefully sailing this weekend on the harbour :D:D:D
