I need a studio desk very badly. Where did you get your desk from?
I'm looking for something not too expensive. I'm thinking around a $300-400 limit.
Something that will fit 2 screens, 2 speakers, and then maybe a small rack and lots of compartments for external harddrives, sound card, and other things. And also room for a typing keyboard that rolls out from under the desk and enough room on top for a midi keyboard...
I went to the guitar center and they sell those desks (I think he said, RTA) but the models that have room for 2 speakers and 2 screens are $600-$700!!!
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me! |

You will find most people who manafacture specific audio workstations charge quite a bit..
Your best bet for that price range in a 2nd hand one from ebay.
I picked up this for AU$200 which would be around US$125

Scored mine from Super AMart, Au$169.00
It's a modular desk, in two pieces and a corner. I've taken the corner out and ran it across one wall. One piece has a two-tier shelf and the other has a keyboard shelf on runners. |

Well it depends, what equipment you have/will have?
Do you have 2 monitors(comp screens), any rack units? midi keyboard etc?
Those desk are way to $$$ and with that money u can buy sum equipment. I suggest you buy a standard long desk and add on to it, go to home depot or w/e they got in cali and buy wood, you can also buy the metal rack things. |

| Ikea's Jerker desk is also very good...forgot to mention it. It was also rated in FM mag for being the cheapest and best studio desk. it has a good setup. For me I just use a standard office desk but i rigged it up for studio use. It all depends on what you have of course. My console isn't that huge so it wasnt a problem. |
