Infection's Forth Oscillator. Do we really need it?

I am redesigning the Infection synth and I have come across this problem. Do we really need the 4th Oscillator? If its important than I will keep it but if people don't think its necessary then I'll save some CPU and screen space.
Respond to poll and add comments, thanks. |

Hey. Beautiful work on the synth btw. I think it should stay in there because so many synths try to get by on only 3 oscillators which is good for some things, but I like creating super lush pads. While its possible to create quite nice pads with one, two or even just three oscillators, four is wonderful for creating thick, lush pads. Please, keep it in :). Your synth runs just fine with everything turned on, on my P4 2.4GHz w/ HT and 768MB of ram. Thanks for the synth :).
Cheers,

I've not used this, is it freeware synth?
Sounds interesting, to be honest, I reckon 3 is more than enough, if you want a phatter sound you can simply layer it with another synth, and in anycase, less is more.
If you got an extra osc to worry about tuning, sometimes it can make your sound crap up.
Unless I'm just , which I am.
LOL!
Good luck mate! |

You can keep the 4 oscs... Just shut them down when you don't need them.
I donnu about Reaktor but if you'd program it as a true vst you can use the on/off button and it will release memory + cpu (since there is no proccessing on that osc). |

| The more Osc's the better, an extra Osc isn't gonna kill a pc now is it. |
