| My favourite was the guy talking about trance production. He thinks it's all done using loops. :haha: |

It can be. But it usually isn't. My fav are the people 'you gotta be on drugs'...A more repetitive stereoype of underground music I have not heard. Almost as repetitive as they thing our music is. |

This comment rules
| quote: | I walk into dance music/DJ shops hear and am amazed by all the no-name, instrumental trance and techno hanging on the walls - usually 1-3 copies of each only.
To me, that sums it up - they are studio people doing them using the same cookie cutter basslines and synth riffs to make money buy selling 'quantity' or sales of junk (without any memorable melody or lyrics) over selling real 'hit dance songs'.
Those are usually under 'disco' or 'imports' - even though most are imports - and are hidden away in a bin that makes me think they ordered it by mistake and they hide it in a dingy bin the back of the shops (euro/NRG/commercial vocal trance 12" issues). It's almost like you feel 'dirty' for even looking in 'that' bin.
Fact is, they are all 16-22 years old working in these places and no nothing about dance music except what DJ HOOLIGAN (just an example, this is a name I made up - as example) played at the last drug infested rave party. (good God, what has happened to simple taste in dance music?).

I wonder who exactly he considers to be "no name"
Sorry that its not Emjay or Culture Beat... LOL |

I thought that was hilarious....but seriously though..can they be anymore ignorant? I used to post quite alot back then, but over the years the attitude from that community has become very...well let's just say stupid...that and immature :/ |

Well if you're going to talk about a genre using its worst dregs as the primary examples, then it's pointless to talk about it at all. Loop-based electronic music almost always sucks ass. |

I expected on eurodancehits to hear Tom Cruise reply with "I AM the one who knows about trance. You don't know anything!"
:tongue2 |

I have no issue with Euro. I could go to a club that played Euro all night and have a great time.
What I find funny is the comments on the age of people on tranceaddict. I assume then that they are all in their 30s or so like myself. There problem is the generation gap.....they are stuck in their ways and haven't evolved with the music.
I think a special shout has to go out to Sly Guy on this one. He makes me proud to be a TOTA with the intelligent and well thought out responses. |

My fave quote from Mr Jason Davis:
"house music - it's vile and is made for and by druggies in my opinion - straight or Gay inclusive)"
:nervous:
And he is the one with an E in his middle name. *shakes head* |
