FAERY TALES :D

With the release of the Brothers Grimm movie.....I am reminded of how much I loved to read faery tales when I was a kid - heck I still can appreciate reading them now.

Many tales were quite violent and horrible in hindsight but I guess there is no "padding the reality" is there. In reality our favourite tale is a insight into ourselves and our imaginations.

My favourite was always THE TINDERBOX by Hans Christian Andersen.....

although not one of his most famous tales - the imagined vision of a dog who guards a chest of gold with eyes that are as big and round as the "Tower of Copenhagen" had always amazed/frightened/excited me :eyes:

Everyone has a favourite faery tale.............post yours ;)

I'm not sure how I feel about faery tales anymore, because in my English class last semester, we ripped apart Little Red Riding Hood and took it back to when it was first recorded... friggin story was bout like, rape and killing and stuff... kinda freaky.

Previous to that class, I think my favourite faery tale was Rapunzel or Rumplestiltskin... that was a good one.

And as dorky as this sounds, the movie Ella Enchanted with Anne Hathaway makes me smile to watch it haha I know, I'm stupid :P

Crap movie.
I used to love all "faery" tales.

Kids, stay in school.

That was lame.

My favourite faerie tale was probably Robin Hood, though it's not exactly a faerie tale. It's very interesting to read faerie tales from other cultures, as many share similar morals to the stories, yet have quite distinct flavour to each.

And Princess Bride rules. Whoever mocks that movie is out of my will.
